WWE announced today that they have 700,000 WWE Network subscribers. They previously announced 667,000 subscribers on April 7th. They added 161,000 subscribers since then but also lost 128,000 for a net gain of 33,000.

WrestleMania XXX drew 690,000 buys, down from 1,039,000 last year Extreme Rules drew 108,000 buys, down from 231,000 last year Payback drew 67,000 buys, down from 186,000 last year Money in the Bank did 122,000 buys, down from 199,000 last year

You don't want to sign up for 6 months? How about one month at double the price?!?!

To be fair re: the PPV numbers, that's a result of the Network and a number of PPV outlets dropping the events.

One month for $19.99? That still gives people a much cheaper way to watch the PPVs assuming they only want to watch a few of them like Rumble or Mania.

A standalone monthly subscription...for $19.99?
I'd understand a one month for $12.99 deal, but $20?! Come on WWE, I don't care about the amount of subscriptions (I'm not involved in business and I'm not an investor in the WWE) but personally I'm not renewing my subscription due to how poor the PPV service/the video player has been. I may have paid for a month long subscription if a good series got on the network, but not for $20. $10 is doable a month for me (barely) but $20?! Suck a funk, WWE.

That's the total PPV numbers?
...Damn. At least as far as the PPV model goes, it doesn't seem like the Network is paying off.

So they gained hardly anything overall.
That's pretty bad.

Those PPV numbers are people that actually ordered the PPV directly, so it's natural that would drop massively (Since the Network existed and some providers weren't even carrying the PPVs).
I'm surprised they're as high as they are on some of those, actually.

WrestleMania XXX drew 690,000 buys, down from 1,039,000 last year Ah, shit. Now they're gonna blame Bryan for this.

The Mania Buyrate is down because 650,000 or so watched it on the WWE Network.

Those PPV buys are just domestic, right? Yeah, that doesn't include the people who paid for the Network, so those numbers are nowhere near as bad as they read initially. EDIT: Sorry, those buyrates are for traditional domestic & international PPV buys, not just US domestic buys, but still, add in the amount of people who had the Network + those buys and it didn't do bad, it did well.

Putting it like that makes a lot more sense to me. If you're just watching the 3 big shows (Rumble/Mania/MITB/Summerslam) that's only 80/year and during that time you can catch old ppvs and stuff. I do like NXT and I think the product has got some good things going so personally I'll keep what I have now, but I think that 20/month is good for casual fans that aren't too heavily invested.

They're pretty alright all things considered, even astounding whatwith there being a 10 dollar option available (imagine there's circumstances at play there more than just being skeptical of the network). Sorry to Google-hound, but does anyone have any breakdowns of where the international buys are coming from? I imagine the majority would be UK and Germany. I can't find figures anywhere.
