Of all the magazines I read as a kid that are now defunct, WWE Magazine is the biggest loss for me. I bought my first issue at Dunham's Discount Sports; it was the September 1992 issue with Papa Shango on the cover. Stories included a preview of SummerSlam, the brutal attack on Big Boss Man by Nailz, and Tatanka (Buffalo!) winning a 40-man battle royal. I kept up with the magazine through its current iteration, from the mid-90s kiddie era when non-wrestling features dominated the magazine (wrestlers reviewing music and movies! Bob Backlund's book review!) to the publication's relaunch as an FHM-style publication with lifestyle and nutrition tips. I still remember the inaugural issue of Raw Magazine, with its frequent breaking of kayfabe and mentions of WCW. But the biggest attraction was the Sunny pictorial--that was pretty awesome for 12-year-old me! I even had letters published in both WWE and Raw Magazine, which was pretty cool.

As a fan of print media, it always depresses me when one of the magazines of my youth folds. I'm pretty sure PWI is the last one standing.

Read it when I was a kid, with Wrestling Spotlight
Both awesome magazines in the early 1990's

I was just wondering recently how with something like Nintendo Power going away that the WWE magazine was still around.

...so I shouldn't have renewed in January? Damn. Get ready to get ESPN: The Magazine until your sub runs out. Maybe Men's Journal.

Did the "for mature fans" tagline on the early Raw magazine issues indicate its Attitude Era influences, or something else?

I am sure they did a digital version too. Also, didn't it die and get brought back a few years ago anyway, it comes and goes like the Superstars TV show seemingly.

After collecting it (and Raw magazine) for about 15 years, I stopped getting the magazine about two or three years ago when the UK started to get its own local version of it. Most of the magazine's pages became full page photos, lost interest then. Sad to see it go though, I know they merged the magazine and WWE.com teams a few years ago so hopefully there are no job cuts in that department as the website has never been better!!

When the main magazine goes down, it makes me concerned for Fighting Spirit Magazine, which will likely be the only magazine remaining here (not sure of the current status of PWI). I hope the high quality writing we have carries us through, but when the leader dies, others tend to follow.

Not continuing with digital only? Either way, it hasn't been that great for awhile (plus it has leaked spoilers a few times) so it is not too big a deal, IMO. I guess it's not too big a deal from some perspectives, but from mine this is the end of an era.

I think they should have went digital. They could have easily hijacked some content that would be going to WWE.com and added house show results, rankings, and continued some of the magazine's features. They could have threw it in as a network exclusive/combined them for $12.99 a month while continuing to honor renewing subscriptions (at a reduced rate).
Combine this with the Network STILL NOT f***ING BEING INTERNATIONAL and they're leaving money on the table.

Oh nooooo.... This doesn't bode well for the "Cenation" who won't have a literary rag to look for when their parents take them to Walmart.

Yeah, when I was a kid all I wanted to do was write for a magazine. That dream is pretty much dead. I don't remember WWF/E magazine having great writing or whatever, but I do have nostalgia for some of those older issues. I still have the Owen memorial one somewhere.

I don't think I have bought an issue since the late 90s and I enjoyed RAW magazine more when it came out.
I bought my first issue in 1988 (Bret Hart was on the cover) when I was visiting my aunt & uncle. It wasn't in my area so I was excited to finally get the magazine and thought it was so cool to have the same one that would show up on tv when they did an update.

As I recall the magazine died a few years ago, then got brought back catering to WWE's kid audience. That change made me uninterested in the magazine most of the time, but I'm still sad to see it go. I have so many wrestling magazines in my collection and some more I'm still hunting for. I'm honestly surprised WWE's is dying before the last of the Apter mags, PWI. My state used to carry 5 or 6 wrestling magazines in every store during the 90s boom period. Now I'm lucky if I can find even one locally. Hopefully I can pick up this final issue.

Will it end like Nintendo Power did? Scoop Sullivan walks out of his big play room with all his WWE merchandise and turning off the light?

RIP in peace. I'll never forget how many faps I got out of that Sunny swimsuit issue. Yes, rest in peace...in peace. Wait, are you Mr Anderson?
