Snowpiercer is just a really stupid name. You know what pierces through show extremely effective? PISS!

I have heard a lot of good buzz about this film but almost zero promotion for it. Judging from the people involved. I mean, directed by the guy who did the original The Host and produced by the guy who did Old Boy...

I don't think I'm as high on it as some but I thought it had some interesting ideas, strong characters, striking visuals and some really memorable sequences.

I personally really liked the movie. Some really memorable scenes and probably the best acting of Chris Evans' career yet.

it was OK seemed like the middle of a much longer idea, could have been made into a miniseries, and some parts were just far fetched and made to be cinematic

I like how there's this huge allegory going on in Snowpiercer...
...that we probably can't discuss because damn near everything about the movie has got nothing nice to say about capitalism.
I mean, even the casting of Chris Evans is interesting considering his other most well-known role.

Good but not great. I think some reviewers were trying to prop it up after how bad it got screwed by Weinstein, but calling it the next Blade Runner or Matrix was WAY overpraising it.

I really did like the film and right now, it is in my Top 5 films of 2014....doesn't matter that it is technically 2013, film was released here in 2014 so I count it as 2014.

I thought it would've worked better if it all took place in a single, huge building instead. It doesn't take many seconds to realize how ridiculous the idea of everyone living on a train not that much wider than a regular train is, where there apparently has to be a near constant running through the cars since that's the one and only passageway.

Maybe that works for you, but When I grow up I want to live in a train FOREVER

Movie starts with "The world froze. All life went extinct."
Oh. Movie over, then.
Or it's all about ghosts.

It's been a while since I watched a film that so bluntly battered my skull with its message from beginning to end, only pausing to pick up a different, yet similar, mallet for a couple extra swings.

The more I think about the ending, the more I dislike it. If it was the point that humanity is stupid, short sighted, selfish, and impulsive no matter if you're good or bad then it's a good ending but I honestly don't think that was the point they were trying to make. Still it's a very good movie with some major flaws but some great brilliance in it as well
