The full open is far worse than you got Andrew. Impact September 25th opening: MVP cut a promo saying Lashley was going to destroy MVP tonight. He then called out Chris Melendez, who he said was making headlines lately. They tried to recruit Melendez to be their bag carrier. He turned them down and King ripped him calling him "peg leg" and said he was going to teach him some respect. They have a match. Melendez pinned him with a sunset flip but was laid out. King. King said he was the star here not Melendez. He said Melendez was laying there just like he laid there when he had his leg blown off in Iraq. He said he wasn't a hero but a cripple and tried to remove his prosthetic leg. Mr. Anderson hit the ring for the save.

A MOST IMPORTANT VISITOR AT TONIGHT'S TNA TAPING by Mike Johnson @ 9:09 PM on 8/7/2014 SpikeTV President Kevin Kay is in attendance at tonight's TNA Impact Wrestling taping at the Manhattan Center in New York City. Given that discussions between the two sides are still ongoing, Kay being at the taping has to be seen as a positive sign. As noted earlier, Spike's Scott Fishman was at last night's taping. Hmmmmm... I'm not liking TNA's chances of renewal.

He mentioned they'd be back in September, but didn't go into specifics. I dont't know if anything was said after I left.

* MVP kicks off the show with Kenny King and Bobby Lashley. He cuts a promo and calls out Chris Melendez to join their group as their bag boy. He turned the offer down and King cut a promo on him, making fun of his prosthetic leg.
* Chris Melendez defeated Kenny King but got beat down after the quick match. Mr. Anderson made the save.
* A Knockouts Battle Royal with Jessicka Havok, Madison Rayne, Rebel, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love is up first. Havok dominated and won after last eliminating Velvet Sky.
* Bobby Roode vs. Bobby Lashley for the World Heavyweight Title is next. Lashley gets the win.
* Abyss defeated Samuel Shaw.
* Samoa Joe vs. Homicide with the X Division Title on the line ends when James Storm, Sanada and Manik attacked them both. Manik has new gear and a new mask after he was taken away by Storm and Sanada last week. They triple team and destroy Joe and Homicide.
* Tajiri vs. MVP vs. Austin Aries vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Abyss in a random match is next. Aries got the win.
* Low Ki defeated DJ Zema Ion.

Fair play, Kenny King did the job to Melendez, the heel always gets their comeuppance, Sounds like they are going long term with this Lashley/King/MVP group.

Oh Zod, I fear the one to topple Lashley is going to be Kurt Angle.

It is so weird to me. The two guys who have been the most protected in this company have been EC3 and Lashley. But both are heels and I do not really see either turning face in time for Bound for Glory. So I have really no clue who they plan on challenging for the title that has not already gone through Lashley and would be a solid guy to go for in the main event.

BFG is just a mixed talent show. Probably Muta himself will be challenging or something. I imagine there will be a lot of TNA vs Wrestle 1 or something like that.
Side note...damn didn't realize how small Wrestle 1 is. They still don't even have a champ yet.

We're also forgetting something else guys. James Storm is a fat, southern cult leader now. I base this on him pulling some "he has been reborn" shit with Sanada.

He said he wasn't a hero but a cripple and tried to remove his prosthetic leg. I gave them 5 or 6 matches to do this, they try with the first. Amazing.

So, am I crazy, or is Lashley pretty awesome lately based on these spoilers? I've not seen any of his stuff in TNA because I'm kinda boycotting TNA due to the Dixie angle but I get the impression that Lashley is over and having good matches (even if he is possibly being carried to them).

For once in their lives, TNA is really protecting a worker and booking them to their strengths. Lashley rarely if ever speaks a word (because he suffers from a terrible condition called baby voice) and they give him plenty of chances to just flat out overpower folks since nobody else is close to the same build as him.
