Good day sir you arse Oh and don't get me started on needing a Z in every word, I'll recognise that when hell freeses over!! You gotta be consistent if you're going to reject one of the best letters in the alphabet.

Pssh, bloody Americans! You're an affront to the greatest tag team to have ever come out of England! That's right, the Union Jacks!

But in the same Breath, the discussion and seeing how many people on FAN are from different parts of the world and can weigh in on the conversation is fun too, if everyones having fun and having good debates, that's what matters most in the end isn't it? That's my point. It's just a fun discussion, not really serious at all. I was just calling you out for YELLING and saying the thread should end. But seriously, there's like another road past yours... and another past that! And so on! (ie: bring your ass here for a visit.)

Ah but a cookie is a type of biscuit What do you call these? That's a scone, lovely with butter, jam and/or cream. Then there are English muffins, pikelets and crumpets all of which fall in the bread/bakery area. A biscuit can be a chocolate chip cookie, but it can also be custard creams, hobnobs, rich tea, chocolate fingers and many more. After that we go into shortbread and Jaffa cake territory which can be a biscuit but is also not a biscuit. I myself am always partial to a bit of crumpet

I really wasn't angry at the whole thing, I was just sort of laughing at it really.
And I'd love to if I could afford the ticket

When Britain first, at Heaven's command Arose from out the azure main; This was the charter of the land, And guardian angels sang this strain: "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves."
The nations, not so blest as thee, Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall; While thou shalt flourish great and free, The dread and envy of them all. "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves."
Still more majestic shalt thou rise, More dreadful, from each foreign stroke; As the loud blast that tears the skies, Serves but to root thy native oak. "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves."
Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame: All their attempts to bend thee down, Will but arouse thy generous flame; But work their woe, and thy renown. "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves."
To thee belongs the rural reign; Thy cities shall with commerce shine: All thine shall be the subject main, And every shore it circles thine. "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves."
The Muses, still with freedom found, Shall to thy happy coast repair; Blest Isle! With matchless beauty crown'd, And manly hearts to guard the fair. "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves." [

Fanny that is all I have to add to this discussion... First time I heard Mark Hamill say, of Empire Strikes Back, "we got out fannies kicked hard", it was a bit of a jolt.

Sales tax totally caught me off-guard when I visited the States. Here's the price of something. Ahh, but it's not the actual price. Took a bit of getting used to. Although I started this thread, I can absolutely relate. I have lived in New Hampshire all my life, where the only thing you pay tax on is prepared food. I HATE going on a trip to Massachusetts because I always forget about tax.

Different tax situations for different states, then? I only visited Illinois at the time.

The most ridiculous thing is when people refer to carbonated beverages as "pop." How freaking lame. It IS pop. (Michigan here) I think all of the soda and pop people can agree though that neither is as bad as calling EVERYTHING a Coke. Don't get me started on "maths"

Ask a coach how important punting/kicking specialists are and the science behind that, and the first one is aces. The second one? Well, if this is a ball: ...I think ours is just as valid no matter how hideously mutated it may be. Yeah well, ask a European footbal coach how important a goalie is, that doesn't make it a sport you play with your hands. And that ball is a traitor. It doesn't count and neither do American handeggs. I could, but I think I'll just ask a certain Brazilian football coach. Maybe he can explain to me why he didn't start one at the World Cup.

Or do you dumbos over in Yikkity Yank land only study "mathetmatic"? That would probably explain your lackwit nature, though I'm curious as to what you study? Is it the times tables throughout your educational life? What is 1 x 1? Remember Jimmy, if you fail this test, you won't get into university! It only has a 30% pass rate, Jim.

Color me surprised, but it seems one of a lot of people's favorite pastimes is to f*** up a word by putting in an unnecessary "u" in it. Hopefully this is just a flavor-of-the-month fad. You know what a month is, right? It's the first number in the corrext xx/xx/xxxx system of writing the date. Stop being a lemoun.

New Hampshire and Alaska are the only ones I can name off the top of my head, though. Some states have sales tax, of varying percentages, unless they have no sales tax, or if they don't tax food, certain food, prepared food, services, other necessities, clothing, specific clothing, clothing over a certain amount of money, among other things. It's a mess.
