They'll get "tough" sounding names.
"Justin Braxton" "Briley Weston" "Colton Strake"

So if they sign people and let them keep their names, can they do the inverse and let the guys they release use their WWE given names as well?

Interesting. Might be a case of, "We promoted these signings, therefore we will make the best of that promotion," but it might also be a case of a work-in-progress thing (IE, until names are finalized, the web people are working on sites with their current names).

WWE are working hard on promoting themselves in Japan, so Devitt and KENTA are keeping their names as they're names that Japanese fans know and are familiar with.
I think Steen will change his name though.

At least KENTA only has one name so he doesn't have to to deal with his name being deemed "too goddamn gay" by Vince.

Kenta's name is changing from KENTA to Kenta. As for Devitt, that's a trickier one but I'm pretty sure he's keeping his name.

I hope we get Kung-Fu KENTA and "The Hooligan" Danny Devitt.
As for Kevin Steen, my NXT name generator says "Zack Mathews".

I mean WWE isn't going to make any more money with the name "Jinder Mahal" but it would help Jinder get bookings if the name Jinder Mahal can be used to promote a card he is on.

Either they're smart enough to keep their copyrights or they're dumb enough to have given them up. *shrug*

If Vince didn't like the name Antonio do you seriously think he's letting Devitt keep Fergal?

If Vince didn't like the name Antonio do you seriously think he's letting Devitt keep Fergal? Honestly if he simply goes by "Devitt", it won't be a big deal.

Good. Would they be holding on to the trademarks if they were then no longer with WWE? This is an interesting development regardless. My guess is Triple H had a hand in this, because I don't recall WWE doing this very often in the past (Punk is the only exception I know of).
