I know other leagues started already but as the Premier League kicks off this weekend, it's time for a nice, new shiny thread. If anyone wants to start a Fantasy League then post the code(s) and I'll put them in this post. Please remember to keep it friendly in here. As much as I hate the phrase, a bit of "banter" is fine but please respect your fellow footy fans and don't go too far. We trust you guys to know what might be going too far. Predictions? I'm gonna stick my neck out and say the Top 4 will be the same teams as last year but not necessarily in the same order. I think Sterling and Coutinho will shine for Liverpool but the lack of the Player of the Year will keep Liverpool waiting another year for a League trophy. Chelsea look strong and if Costa adjusts well, they'll be tough to beat and although he may be an arrogant prick, Mourinho is tactically the best Manager around. Overall, I feel City still have the best squad and will win the title again. Arsenal may've sold a few key players, they've still got a great attacking team and (here comes the kiss of death) and if anyone is to stop City it'll be them. I expect United to get into Europe but Top four might be a step too far this year. As for relegation, I think West Brom will drop down and unless they start making more signings before the window closes, I think the loss of so many key players and their Manager will doom Southampton to the drop. As for the third team, sorry Burnley. If anyone wants to do the Fantasy thing, then head over to Fantasy Premier League and join the Private League using the code 1681727-486287. (Thanks to Armbar for setting it up).

And there are various reports doing the rounds that Tony Pulis is no longer Crystal Palace Manager. If true, that's a damn shame as he did a great job there last season.
Edit: BBC are now confirming it.

Palace lose their manager two days before the season starts, and the manager of the year as well, Palace's odds of getting relegated I'm sure have shortened a lot now.

Don't think Arsenal are good enough to be considered favourites yet, but I could see them staying in the title race right to the very end (with a very small chance of actually winning). I predict Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal to be the top three teams, with Manchester United and Liverpool battling for fourth. Wouldn't expect much changes in performance from the other teams except maybe Southampton with almost a completely new lineup and Crystal Palace now that they've lost Pulis. Of the promoted teams, I think Leicester and QPR can stay up.
Hoping Atletico Madrid can remain competitive with Real Madrid and Barcelona again this season but it's looking less likely with several important players gone. They seem to have done okay with finding replacements, though. They should remain top three but if I had to predict the champion I'd go with Real. Also see another close fight for the last Champions League spot again, but not Athletic winning especially with Herrera gone and European football. Perhaps Sevilla or Valencia will get it. The rest of the teams could be anywhere from mid-table to relegation. Hoping that tiny Eibar give a good account of themselves in their first top-flight season.
Bayern Munich will probably win the Bundesliga easily again, but hopefully with the gap closing slightly this time round. Dortmund, Leverkusen and Schalke are all capable of doing a lot better than they did last season.

we got a fantasy premier league code for this season? Not yet that I know of. If you want to start one then go ahead and as I said, I'll amend the first post so the link and code is there.

Palace are utterly insane. If I supported them, I'd be livid at the chairman.

I can't see why Palace would do this, he was the manager of the season last year just give him the control over the transfers, they have clearly not been the best at negotiating etc so let Pulis do it!
its been the off season of the chairmen really, Leeds making players bring there own sandwiches and wash there own kits, Blackpool just saying f*** it we won't have a proper team this year, and now this! bizarre.
i don't have a prediction for the PL, i'm more focused on League 1, but i can predict Oldham Athletic will do nothing of note as we rarely do, but i am looking forward to our regular fixture with Liverpool in January's FA Cup third round.
as long as no one puts a vine up of it thought eh!

Don't forget Southampton. I wouldn't be shocked if they went down this year, not just from losing, well, almost everyone, but the mood that creates amongst everyone else. There's already 1 more guy is trying to force his way out, it can't do much for confidence or team spirit when everyone's running for the exit at the first opportunity.

Oh yeah!! hahaha how did i forget them! I think Burnley and Leicester are going to really struggle and we will depending on who the get in see Palace down there too, i think Ronald could do a good job at the Saints, they have the best youth set up in the country lets not forget. i'm sure they have some great youth/reserve players somewhere no one knows about yet.

MLS fan here....what the hell is relegation? Does it only happen to the bottom three teams? so there are 4 main leagues in England. Premier Championship League 1 League 2 then you have non league. so lets say your a team in League 1, if you come in the top 2 of that league you get automatic promotion to the championship, 3,4,5&6 play in playoff games to determine the 3rd place. if you come in the bottom 4 you get relegated to league 2, the premier league has 3 spots for relegation, so does the Championship, league 1 has 4 and league 2 has 2. (if you get relegated from league 2 its into non professional leagues etc) Championship has 3 places for promotion, League 1 has 3 and League 2 has 4. if you come in the top 3/4 of the prem (not sure this season) you get to play in the Champions League.

American sports leagues should have relegation
It's time that Americans felt the same crushing stress and agony that the rest of the sporting world endures.

American sports leagues should have relegation It's time that Americans felt the same crushing stress and agony that the rest of the sporting world endures. I've always found it odd that American sports don't have this method, which generally promotes a meritocracy, I thought that was a big thing there, you know, work hard and you can achieve anything. Instead, this whole franchise thing, you could be a minor league team, and win that division every year indefinitely, but never get a shot at the major league, because you're in a bad area or don't have a big money backer, just feels wrong to me.

MLS fan here....what the hell is relegation? Does it only happen to the bottom three teams? Yes. The bottom three teams every year are demoted to the league below. The top three teams are promoted to the Premier League to take their place. Last season Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff were relegated to the Championship (the league below the PL), and Leicester (1st), Burnley (2nd) and QPR (play-off tournament winner) were promoted to take their place.

If the NFL operated on a simple one-up one-down promotion and relegation format in each conference to whatever American football league is considered secondary, the Houston Texans and the Washington Redskins would have been relegated last season
