I don't care what kind of dire business WWF was doing in 1995, to my nine year old self, nothing was cooler than Diesel and Bret Hart. Long hair, leather jackets, sunglasses and bad attitudes.

Joe vs. Kobashi. I know it's almost a smark cliche to rave about that match, but damn, if I ever want someone to understand how much the crowd response MAKES pro wrestling, that's the match I go to. It might be impossible to miss the appeal of wrestling when you feel the rush of that cramped little Manhattan crowd losing it for the simplest stuff.

Brock Lesnar destroying Cena a couple nights ago made me remember why I'm a fan.
I'm not even a Cena hater it was just unexpected to see him crushed like that and it made sense in kayfabe, I really dug it.
Also, want to give a shout out to Punk's pipebomb. I was actually watching that episode thinking that I was ready for a break from wrestling, but that promo and summer run made me a huge fan again.

Nexus and Punk's pipebomb were times in recent years when lapsed fans actually seemed interested in what was happening again, but of course they were both ruined. I'm also reminded of watching an ECW video a few years ago in a friends house and another non-fan friend who was there was amazed by it and said if that was on TV he'd watch it every week compared to WWE which he was never into.

1990's-era All Japan is truly a great thing. Anything with Tenryu, Misawa, Hansen, Kawada... I love subjecting wrestling virgins to it and watching them try to figure out of it's "real".

A lot of Japanese wrestling is so hard hitting that I can totally see why they view and respect it as a real sport in Japan. I just wish there were a lot more DVDs and online videos of Japanese wrestling with English commentary so that I understood the storylines and history between opponents.

I just wish there were a lot more DVDs and online videos of Japanese wrestling with English commentary so that I understood the storylines and history between opponents. I have a guy who has a lot of puro DVD's who I've gotten most of my collection from. Funny thing is, I have no idea what they're saying... but I love the commentary. They just have a way that makes the match seem so exciting. Sometimes I wish I didn't speak English because I'd probably think Cole, Lawler and JBL were awesome. The down side is that sometimes I'm watching one of the shows and I know that something important is happening, but I really have no idea what. Fortunately, most of the time I can get the jist of what's going on... maybe not the specifics... but I can tell that Jumbo Tsuruta's stable and Genichiro Tenryu's stable are rivals, and that despite Abdullah the Butcher and Tiger Jeet Singh being tag team partners sometimes, they really want to stab each other.
