Mac DeMarco in Colorado. It was amazing.
I also saw Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds before that in KC. Yum.

Mayhem Festival 2012, most of the bands were terribad. Slayer, Anthrax, Motorhead, and Slipknot were the only good parts about it.

Saw Ghost back in May at the House of Blues in Houston. Best concert I've been to in a long time.

Black Sabbath in Las Vegas last September, it was pretty good but it was an all seater arena and I would have preferred to be standing, still was great to see them live as I doubt I'll get another chance.

We have a free concert in the park series during the Summer and I try and go every week. Burn Halo killed it the last time I went. The last show I paid for was Oleander and they put on an amazing show. I'm going to Aftershock Fest again this year and the lineup is stacked! Last year's show was awesome and I'm sure this will be fun too!

Filter, Helmet, and Local H two nights ago. I went for Local H as they are one of my favorite bands and I had never gotten the chance to see them live. They were fantastic and I got to meet Scott Lucas (their singer) after their set. I had seen Helmet before so I knew what to expect from them. Filter surprised me though. I'm not a huge fan of their stuff (other than Hey Man, Nice Shot and Welcome To The Fold) but they were actually pretty solid live. Their drummer almost got seriously injured as a beam from the scaffolding above him fell and narrowly missed him. Luckily he escaped without injury. But it was a really good show especially considering tickets were only 10 bucks for all three bands and we were up front the entire time. That sounds like a great time. I'm a fan of all 3 of those bands, especially Helmet. I've seen them a few times. Always put on a fun show.

April 22nd of this year I saw Avoid One Thing, the Street Dogs, the Ducky Boys, the Welch Boys,Lenny Lashley's Gang of One (Lenny Lashley also plays guitar for the Street Dogs), Burning Streets, and Duck and Cover at the Great Scott in Allston, Massachusetts. It was a fundraiser for the Lieutenant Walsh - Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund (two Boston firefighters who died earlier in the month). The big attraction of the night was Avoid One Thing (fronted by lead singer/bassist Joe Gittleman, who also plays bass for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones) playing one of their first gigs in ten years. I sang along LOUD to every song and started to waver later in the show when the Street Dogs (best known for being fronted by original Dropkick Murphys singer Mike McColgan) and though the spirit was willing, I was becoming dehydrated from a combination of beer consumption, body heat from everyone crammed into this small venue, and exhausting myself from AOT's set and had to watch the tail end of the Street Dogs' set from the back of the room to get some air. Which is a bit of a bummer because they are my favorite band and it was cool to see them in a more intimate venue.
Funny note: me and two of my friends, a pair of brothers Jason & Adam were waiting by the side of the stage for Avoid One Thing's set to start and the band was tuning up and Jason yells at Joe Gittleman: "Hey Joe Gittleman, you know about 'Mutiny on The Microphone'!" (Adam's Boston music podcast) and Gittleman struck a quizzical look to Jason's (and everyone else's) amusement and Adam's amusement/a little bit of embarassment. And then after an AOT song that featured a blistering guitar solo by lead guitarist Amy Griffin he screams "Yeah, there we go Amy Griffin!"....Needless to say, Jason has a thing for referring to people by their full name.

Justin Timberlake in LA. Was an amazing 3 hour show... No opening act which was weird. He did have a DJ going tho... A lot of fun. I want to see him again this week but I'll have to wait until November

About three weeks ago I saw Cheap Trick & Boston at The Forum in LA (or Inglewood to be more precise).
A few weeks before that, I took my son to see Def Leppard & KISS also at The Forum.

I was supposed to see Linkin Park/AFI/30 Seconds to Mars this past Friday, but things came up and I had to give up the tickets. I saw Panic! At the Disco twice the week before, though. Those were excellent show. Walk the Moon were one of the openers and were great.
Next up is Coheed and Cambria in Septemeber...unless I decide to go to Rise Against a few days before that.
