Oh, and I don't care what anybody says, but the Music City Miracle was a FORWARD PASS.

Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between the Lakers and Kings should be on there. That was more than one call though. And I don't think the NBA rigged it for the Lakers to win the series. I think they let it be known to the refs that they wanted a game 7, and for the refs to do whatever it took. The NBA knew Lakers vs Kings was the true NBA Finals that year, and the Nets weren't going to stand a chance against the winner, so they wanted the ratings a game 7 would bring. And it's a damn shame, because while there were horrible calls that whole series that benefited both teams, that game puts a dark cloud over one of the greatest playoff series ever. Hell even with game 6 you could make an argument that it was the greatest. Oh, they rigged it for the Lakers to win the series. I honestly believe they didn't want Sacramento anywhere near the championship that year.

Or that Nets-Kings would be ratings poison (like Nets-Spurs ended up being). Even as a Jet fan I knew number 6 was wrong when I watched it live. That and the aforementioned Jerry Rice incident is why replay returned. Pretty good list. Lot of angry moments in there. I'm also thinking Ice Dancing Olympics makes my list. That seems like a really sore spot for Canadians. To be fair, I was just reminded of what happened in the 2002 Olympic pairs finals and that was bad.

We could have a whole list of bad calls in the Olympics. Park See-Hun at the Seoul Olympics in boxing is just the tip of the iceberg that is the disgrace of Olympic boxing. Figure skating and gymnastics are just as bad.

Jerry Meals blowing the call during Pirates-Braves back in 2011. Just a terrible, terrible call.

I'm amazed that Don Denkinger's safe call in game six of the 1985 World Series didn't even make the list, as it is a fairly consensus top choice among the worst calls in sports history. For starters, it's a call that decided a championship. Had he rightly called Jorge Orta out, then Todd Worrell gets the next two outs and closes the door, winning the World Series for the Cardinals. Instead, he called Orta safe, things snowballed, the Royals won game six, then routed a despondent St. Louis team in game seven. Also forgotten on the list is Eric Gregg's preposterous strike zone in game five of the 1997 National League Championship Series. Just an example, here is a called strike on Braves first baseman Fred McGriff:

Jerry definitely fumbled, I can see why Packer fans hate that game but it is one of my favorite sports memories. It was the first time I ever cried tears of joy, I was 11 years old and I lost it when TO made that catch.
I will never understand how Mike Bobby's face fouled Kobe's elbow in that 2002 series.
Another one that needs to be up there is the 2011 NFC title game. Bradshaw fumbled and the forward progress call was bullshit. The Niners should have gone to the Superbowl that year.

Frank Lampard's disallowed goal for England against Germany at the 2010 World Cup when England were trailing 2-1, even though the ball landed about two feet over the goal line.
Germany went on to win 4-1. Still gets me mad thinking about it.

Don Denkinger in the 1985 World Series should be #1. How could it not even make the list? Meh. Orta still got tagged out on 3rd. Either way you look at it, it's the only out the Cards got.

The. San Antonio vs Jersey NBA finals drew great ratings...in San Antonio
Bret Hull scored, the Stars won the cup. The Sabres never did. End of discussion
The fifth down. I have carried a a soft spot for Mizzou ever has since then. They get automatic sympathy from me. Hell I have pulled for them quite a bit. One time every year you can guarantee I won't be pulling for them is the annual game against my beloved Aggies. It has turned into quite a rivalry.

Game 6 in the 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Yes, it went in off of Martin Gelinas' skate but there was no kicking motion. They never reviewed the goal. Even the ref who made the call has said it was in. The Flames got f***ed that year. (not bitter)

the scottish cup final between hearts and hibs in 2012 ..... Almost immediately after the start of the second-half Hearts were awarded a controversial penalty. Kujabi brought down Suso, (replays showed that the foul had taken place outside the box) and received a second yellow card. Danny Grainger scored the penalty which was his first goal for Hearts. he never ..... NEVER touched the hearts player and actually DIVED the cheating sodding bastard i was so mad at this, i actually SWITCHED over to the english FA cup final and watched that suso is a cheating scumbag

Oh, and I don't care what anybody says, but the Music City Miracle was a FORWARD PASS. I used to feel that way, but I'm neither a bills or Titans(Oilers fan when they were in Houston tho) fan so it isn't emotional for me. I changed my tune fter I saw a carful analysis on NFL network complete with a geometric representation. That said the easy thing to do for a referee making the call is to flag it and kill it. But if they had the argument would be the other way and we'd still be talking about it anyway and Buffalo would still be without a Super Bowl. The only difference would be we would call the Bills Five time Super Bowl losers. But I'm ICBM and that's just my opinion

I was a neutral party but even the NFL kind of admitted that the refs screwed up big time in the Steeler/Seahawks Super Bowl as they didn't penalize anybody affiliated with the team for bashing the refs afterwards.
I dunno how remembered it is but AJ Pryzinski running to first on a strikeout against the Angels won the game for the White Sox and eventually led to them winning that series.

As an Angels fan, I still crab about that series in general. That was the first time I really felt like the umps were deciding who would win a game more than the players.
