The only way this news wouldn't really hurt TNA is if they already had a new TV deal signed and they were simply moving further toward having less older talent on the show. However, they don't have that deal, and Bully Ray has been a huge focal point of a bunch of the most recent episodes of Impact, along with getting a TNA Hall of Fame induction at their biggest show of the year. That...is no bueno. I admire your tenacity to find a silver lining/positive perspective to each TNA development that comes along.

I don't want to say "LOLTNA" but this is like the AJ deal last year.
LOLTNA.
However, this is great news for future TNA Champ, DJ Z.

I'm basically just desperate to have any alternative possible on TV for pro wrestling, both for entertainment's sake and for the sake of wrestlers who won't get their chance in WWE for whatever reasons, but I'm always stuck writing "Well, here's how it COULD work out well, but it's TNA so here's how it'll probably wind up going, instead." Painful, but I can remember doing that in my head during early 1999 while watching WCW. Turned out just as well, basically. Man, this takes the awful "Dixie through a table" angle and just makes it even worse.

This is the end. It has to be - a guy like Bully leaving means that the company is beyond repair.

The TNA Hall Of Fame is amazing. Sting inducted-eventually leaves after farting around with the Aces and 8's. Kurt Angle Inducted- Refuses induction, ends up accepting it after winning one match against a guy who kicked his ass for months. Team 3D- D'Von finally comes back for induction, then Bubba lets contract expire.
What's scary is that Dixie will probably find a way to have a physical HoF before Vince does.

Weird situation. I hope Bully keeps wrestling somewhere for a little bit more. He's come a long way.

The Observer also reported this, with Meltzer making an interesting observation:
So the good news is that Bully and Angle leaving will save them some money. The bad news is that without Bully and Angle, your most recognizable star is a guy who be a your big PPV because of a felony conviction.

I have never bought into Bully Ray, and his "rise to main event" was where I pretty much quit watching until recently. But yeah this is moronic, even if he's quite oversold.

I think that Bully never forgave the company for keeping him down for years, think about all the former wwe guys that were given main event pushes, yet team 3d actually put over the talent, I can't blame him for leaving.

Long live Bully's work in 2011-12. One of the best heels in recent memory.

The WWE would take the Dudleyz back in a second. Same with Jeff whenever he's available to sign.
Shame for TNA, but the writing has been on the wall for a while now. They are living on borrowed time.

Aren't their drugs laws about as harsh as the UK? Rereading my post, I completely mangled that sentence. I had meant to say that Jeff won't be on the big PPV because of a felony conviction. Japan and UK are pretty much out for him. He had wrestled in Japan before, but that was prior to his conviction.
