If it's anything like the Hot Fuzz video.
"Did you know, those weren't actually human-sized turtles, but actually just people in suits?"

This was leagues better than the Hot Fuzz one.
This kind of thing does work better with older movies because as there was no DVD's and little to no Internet back when these films were made so it was harder to catch a good chunk of this stuff as it happened, but they're easier to find now due to advances in technology and news gathering.
One point to add onto that list he did mention the product placement for Archie comics, but in the same scene there were also some Konami arcade games prominently displayed. This is because as most gamers know Konami held the rights for TMNT games for years. (Thankfully the film makers didn't try to get too cute and put a Turtles arcade machine into the background.)

Good video. Some stuff I genuinely wasn't aware of.

Yeah he actually had a few good ones this time. Miles better than the Hot Fuzz one.

He mentions that the rooftop fight with Shredder is taken from the comics, but not that pretty much the rest of the plot is as well (Casey meeting Raph, Splinter disappearing, the Turtles staying with April, the second-hand shop fight, the exile to the farm)

He said that he wouldn't show goofs or whatever, then he goes on to show a few. Come on, man.

He said that he wouldn't show goofs or whatever, then he goes on to show a few. Come on, man. And also that he wouldn't show behind the scenes stuff, like Robin Williams helping the woman who played April.

I do agree with his interpretation of Michelangelo not engaging in conversation with Donatello about Splinter being his refusal to entertain the thought of Shredder no longer being with him, if only because Michelangelo is totally the type to not want to confront his, or his loved ones', mortality.

The one with the voice actors for the Turtles being in the movie blew my mind, especially the fact that Raphael's actor was the guy in the taxi,

I love the fact that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was independently made. To parrot what Doug said, it's amazing there was zero interest for a movie version of the biggest cartoon show/merchandising liscense of the time. It's kind of cool to know that every time I watch TMNT, I'm watching an indie flick.
With the Archie Comics product placement, when Doug showed the cover of an old copy of an Archie Comics Ninja Turtles book and it shows Leonardo in the upper right hand corner with a red face mask and elbow/knee pads. I remember as a kid seeing the Turtles wearing red bandanas (like on the cover of the original NES game) and always thought that was a mistake and/or the artist was just lazy. Then when I learn that they all wore the same color head band in the Mirage comic books. The Turtles actually start off with the same color bandanas in the IDW comic books and then they all get bandanas in different colors (and the reason why they get each color is pretty cool for the new retelling of their origin story).

As a die-hard fan of the original Mirage comic, I have to cry foul on a couple of his points. He says that in the original comics, all four Turtles acted the same and didn't get distinct personalities until the cartoon series came along. That's 100% false. In the first issue, yes, they all acted very similarly, but by issue 2, they began fleshing out their personalities. Leonardo was the serious one who sought to follow in the footsteps of Splinter's master Yoshi. Raphael was hot-tempered and often challenged Leonardo. Donatello was studious and a general handyman. Michelangelo was passive and full of life. All that stuff was a part of the Turtles long before the cartoon series, and the only person who will outright lie about this fact is David Wise (writer on the 1987 cartoon), because he's full of shit.
And that paragraph leads directly into my second gripe with this video, which is the claim that the film created Raph's angry loner persona because he was too goofy in the cartoon. False. Steve Barron worked closely with Eastman and Laird on the film, and used their comics as the dominant source of inspiration. Hell, the entire movie is ripped from the first ten or so issues of the Mirage series. They didn't create angry Raphael for the film, they just went back to his true persona from the books.

stop bringing your fanfics into this I am a huge fan of TMNT, and I STILL f*** that up all the time, gah. I used to be a big fan back when the first movie came out. I had a ton of the action figures and caught the cartoon every weekend. I quit watching around the red sky season/Turtles mutations are unstable season. That said, I know who the turtles are, I know who Splinter is, as well as Krang, Shredder, Bebob, Baxter Stockman, Casey Jones, Slash, and all the others. Heck, I even remember Bugman from the cartoon who could change into this cool but freaky human/bug super hero guy. Needless to say, when I was singing the original cartoon theme song to myself, it went something like this: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...Shredder taught them to be ninja teens...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles..." After a second or two I caught myself and was very very embarrassed!

Rocksteady leads, Baxter Stockman does machiiiines Krang is cool, but rude The Rat King is a party dude
