In his last day with the company, he was supposed to join the main event mafia, but instead they turned on him and attacked him. Kurt mentioned that he lacked commitment to TNA, and all of them turned down lucrative contracts to stay with TNA, it was also weird hearing the babyface announcer Mike Tenay burying Christian, almost as if he deserved the ass kicking he got.
I find it funny now that Kurt talked about commitment, yet Booker T and Nash left right before TNA advertised them to return, which was stupid of tna to do when they weren't under contract.
It's amazing the condition TNA was back there and how it is now, like look at the people in the ring compared to the current roster. They blamed Christian for leaving, but when the money stops coming in even the biggest supporters leave in the middle of the night.

This technically wasn't his last appearance... hahaha dude, I forgot about the hall of fame cameo, well as a contracted wrestler, Christian wasn't happy to return there.

This was such the wrong direction to take. The WWE stuff shouldn't have been mentioned at all.

If they decided they HAD to do that... they could have used it to get some other heel over like have a guy claim to try and use TNA to get into the WWE... still stupid but at least the heat would get transferred to a guy and could be used in a storyline in some way...

I think that was the point where I stopped watching TNA on a regular basis. Christian was one of the very few WWE signings that benefited TNA positively, and his departure left a massive hole in the roster that was never quite filled.
Although man did he get out at the right time.

This technically wasn't his last appearance... I thought this was what this thread was about. He even wore the same shirt in his Slammiversary appearance when he first debuted with the company at Genesis 2004

I've always felt that unless you have one of their titles held hostage, you shouldn't mention other current promotions.

In a ruthless world of wrestling solely propagated by psychopathic WWE set of "business" rules, Christians departure from TNA was executed spot on.

Out of all the people in this video, only Kurt Angle is still with the company. Very soon he could be gone too!

When Christian appeared at Slammiversary, he had that look of someone going to his ex-girlfriend's wedding under direst.

And to think Christian would probably still been in TNA if they got rid of Double J and Russo like he asked when he was negotiating his last contract.

Christian was part of a group of TNA folks who were lobbing for Double J be stripped of power due lack of confidence in his control of the company. That lead to a power struggle backstage with pro Jarrett and anti Jarrett trying to convince Dixie that side is right. When Christian's contract was being renegotiated, one of the provisions he wanted was Double J gone. Dixie sided with Jeff and Christian went back to WWE. A couple of years later though, Double J and his regime where stripped of power because he was dating Karen Angle when her and Kurt already split and no longer married.

Given their absolute tailspin after Jarrett lost sway, this is sort of a "no one is right" conclusion.

Rewatching that clip made me a sad panda. I still think Christian's heel run in TNA was the best run he ever had aside from his Edge and Christian days. Yes, even beating out his ECW stuff. However, I remembered thinking it sucked how he got pushed so far aside once Angle came in.
