I remember there is one wrestler in the documentary who I think we only see once for like a second, but he sticks out in my mind.
It is when Jake "The Snake" is working an indie show and Barry Blaustein does a voiceover summing up the indie. He says something like "It was a place where there was wrestlers I never heard of before or ones I haven't heard about in a long time."
When he says the "never heard of before" there is a guy in a kind of crappy lucha mask shown. Any idea who that is?
Whenever I see think of that guy I always kind of feel bad for him. For al we know he could have been a great wrestler, but that being his only appearance in the film (outside of maybe being in the background in some shots) makes him look like crappy.

Isn't it the same company where Jake did crack? Maybe a fake luchadore?

It's been a while since I've seen it, but yeah I think its all around the same time he's doing crack, brings that snake out for that girl he says he thinks will be some ugly trucker's wife or something, etc. I'm pretty positive he is a fake luchador and probably not any kind of great talent, but am curious about exactly who that was.

Looked into it... looks like the promoter for that show was Ed Beckley, and looking his name up leads to a now-defunct promotion called "Bad Boys of Wrestling". Which makes sense because Jake is wearing a "BBOW" logo t-shirt.
Koko Ware and someone who looked like Greg Valentine were also in that locker room... maybe that'll help you figure out who was on that particular card.

I can't answer your question but if you want comedy watch when they introduce Jake and Grizzly. My friend pointed out Grizzly is just hammering a rock for no reason and Jake is just shoveling leaves for no reason.
It's hilarious when you notice it and obviously Blaustein said, "Pretend to do yard work" and shot the scene.

Wish I could help you but it's been too long since I've seen it. I kinda remember though which part you're talking about but my memory is too fuzzy.

Lol yeah I remember that, imagine what Blaustein would've done if he knew about Grizzly's sordid past.

What is La Nunca doing in the impact zone?
Maybe the scumbag promoter said that a famous luchadore was appearing on the show and told the guy to pretend he was the luchadore, Dale Gagner used to book fake Kanes and fake Mankinds.

the masked guy was La Nunca se le Ocurriría Antes De (translated via Babelfish) which roughly translates to 'Never would've happened'. Must be some kind of paradox gimmick.

Fake La Parkas. Keep going. It's all well and good I suppose, since he's a fake Gagne.

That was the Babelfish translation for "Never Heard of Before." I added La. The reverse translation doesn't work that well on their site though so it kinda of screws up the joke.

Sorry to hear about your injury, but it has nothing to do with my lame attempt at humor ('Never would've happened, yet here it is.').

I have another question of beyond the mat. Is the Frankie the parrot that appeared with Koko B Ware, the same one that appeared on his HOF induction? Or is it a new one? Idk the parrots life expectancy.
