Sadly he is going to end up relegated to a midcard feud when he gets back.

With the trade deadline passed, WWE's going to have to make a waiver deal to bolster their bullpen. Especially since Alberto del Rio was recently sent down to their AAA affiliate.

I can almost hear Vince laughing at the thought of getting Bryan to drop half his face to match his arm and pretend to have Balls Palsy.

Baseball jokes aside I hope this is the reason why he was losing strength in the arm and not necessarily because of the neck I thought Bryan himself said recently that it turns out that the problem was never in his neck to begin with, they just didn't realise until after the surgery?

Hopefully that means he throws less hanging sliders when he gets back. That's the difference between an ace and a B+ starter.

3 months seems awful optimistic. I know he isnt pitching but if it takes pitchers a year and a half to get back up to 100% I'd at least expect him to be out 6 months or so.

I hate to say it, but I think he should retire following this surgery if it is required. He has nothing left to prove, and it's simply not worth it (to me).

We are trained to think Tommy John surgery is a surgery that is very detrimental but it is not the case. For the large majority of cases that ligament becomes stronger than it ever was plus recovery time is quick (if you're not a baseball player). This isn't really something to worry about with Bryan. His neck surgeries are what make me skeptical for him to return.

I thought he got so bored at home that he had one two many Tommy Tanks and that's why Dr. Tommy John has to give his Tommy surgery.

So they're rehashing Lex's bionic forearm?

Baseball jokes aside I hope this is the reason why he was losing strength in the arm and not necessarily because of the neck That's my understanding as well. You hear the pitchers complain of tightness or fatigue in the forearm usually right before the diagnosis. I hate to say it, but I think he should retire following this surgery if it is required. He has nothing left to prove, and it's simply not worth it (to me). Honestly for an athlete that's not a hurler with that arm, it's really nothing (he will have to cut down on the yessing. He kept going over his yes limit every match and it just blew out over time ) We are trained to think Tommy John surgery is a surgery that is very detrimental but it is not the case. For the large majority of cases that ligament becomes stronger than it ever was plus recovery time is quick (if you're not a baseball player). This isn't really something to worry about with Bryan. His neck surgeries are what make me skeptical for him to return. Yeah the replacement ligament graft they pull from you is, for lack of a better term, less worn out usually. After it heals its why you hear that guys might be throwing a touch faster or feel a touch stronger (well that plus all the rehab you go through). Guess you can say it's if your 30-32 and get it done it's like having an elbow ligament of a 18-20 year old again.

With every new report on Bryan, I'm genuinely worried his career might be over.

Sadly he is going to end up relegated to a midcard feud when he gets back. Bryan vs Miz part 2! Vince: "I want you to get out there and make Miz look good. You're going to be tapping to the figure 4 for the next month"

I've never cared for Bryan the wrestler, but he is a pretty funny guy and I hope he recovers and goes back to doing what he loves.

I'm also hearing Daniel Bryan needs Tommy John surgery and will be out at least 3 more months.
......seriously, did that need to be said verbatum 3 times in the original report?

With every new report on Bryan, I'm genuinely worried his career might be over. Mmm. He soldiered through injuries for many years now. Ok, pro wrestling, almost all these guys are some point are working through injuries major or minor. But a bit like Orndorff back in the day, Bryan was putting it off because he was getting big spotlight. And very much fair enough there. Now it's taking major time and surgery and rehab to get him fixed up. I think it would've always taken a while anyway. I can only hope that this does all work and that he doesn't rush back. Because this is a real career risk at the moment that has me worried.

I seriously laughed out loud. I'm also blown away that recovery from that surgery is only 3 months if you're not a pitcher. Another poster noted ,we're so conditioned to think that it's at least a year of recovery.
