Yeah, i know all the "LOLHHHWINS" stuff, but how would you book a triple h angle that ends with him retiring as an in-ring performer (he can still do the COO stuff) for good?

Chris Jericho puts him in the real Liontamer, kneeling on his neck while bending him in half and kayfabe cripples him.
He can still walk and do everything normal, but WWE Medical Staff informs him that he can never wrestle again or he will be paralyzed forever.

The match will be career on the line. Triple H will destroy his opponent. Triple H will have his opponent knocked out on the canvas.
Triple H will look up, shrug, mouth the words "I'm sorry, I love me" to the hard camera and lay down, draping his opponent's limp arm over his chest for the 1-2-3.
Then the next night he'll claim he won but is just gonna retire anyway.

Put his all into a match against the Beast Incarnate but come up short. Retire on Raw the next day.

Walks out onto Raw says, "I'm the luckiest bastard who ever lived. If it weren't for Foley, Rock, Taker, and HBK, I wouldn't have a career at all. You think you like me, but you're just remember all my greatest opponents who are real HOFers."

He can still walk and do everything normal, but WWE Medical Staff informs him that he can never wrestle again or he will be paralyzed forever. After Jericho is declared the winner of the match, Y2J walks over to a laid out HHH and drops his tights, squats over him and takes a giant, splattery shit on HHH's head. The "railroading" that was their feud around Wrestlemania 18 would be even.

I had kicked around an idea where Hunter gets fired as COO and has to return to the active roster. After seeing that his in-ring skills have begun to diminish and hearing from the other wrestlers how the Authority has negatively affected them, ideally, he would have a "Grinch's heart grows 3 sizes" moment and turns babyface. After a decent run in the upper midcard, he'd put his career on the line against Seth Rollins or Brock or heel Sheamus.
Of course, after rereading this, even for fantasy booking this is preposterous because it would involve Triple H repenting and looking vulnerable.

Triple H is by all accounts pretty much retired from in-ring competition isn't he? It wouldn't make sense to me to see him have some sort of retirement angle when we know we're going to see him on-screen as the COO. he's pretty much Vince McMahon status at this point. HBK and Flair had retirement ('retirement' in Flair's case) ceremonies because we knew they didn't have extremely important roles backstage and were no longer going to be an actual integral part of the product

I don't care about the storyline or opponent, the key to everything would be that the thing that finally puts him down for good is a SHOVEL. After all the burying HHH has done in his career it would be very apropos for the shovel to put an end to his career, the final burial if you will.
