I think a wrestling show would work well on an "edgy" cable network like AMC or FX. Put it on at 10PM, then they can say shit every other word and maybe flash some butt once in a while.

You might be right, but they probably do not wanna deal with the negative stigma that is associated with professional wrestling and their fanbases.
Unless you see a major innovative change to the show format, you won't see wrestling on a "good channel" again (other than WWE) for a long time.
(Think original G.L.O.W. for a "trend breaking" show format)

SpikeTV seems like the friendliest network ever. "You guys have hired someone we specifically told you not to hire and then hid it from up, you showed male on female violence when we forbade it, and it resulted in a serious injury to your owner, and you keep trying to get top dollar from us when you haven't earned it! If you do this another 10 or 12 more times, we are going to consider pulling out of this deal!"

"TNA Impact Wrestling: Now the flagship program on RFD-TV! Just after the latest episode of I Love Toy Trains!" I don't know if I posted this story before, but I discovered that channel after a night of drinking. I came home and started channel surfing and was greeted with an auctioneer show where they were selling cattle in Montana. I watched it until I passed out and woke up and there was what looked like a public access country music talk show. It has become my go-to cable channel after a night of binge drinking and eating pretzels/saltines. I dont know whats more entertaining when drinking, cattle auctions on RFDTV or the strange house auctions with sleazy guys from Florida on the High numberd shopping networks.

Seems like a covering all the bases story to me, TNA may be staying or they may be leaving. I have a hard time buying that Spike would be keeping TNA around as an act of charity and is just leading them on with negotiations, Viacom aren't a company known for being charitable, if they no longer wanted TNA gone they would be gone now.
I have an even harder time buying that Alvarez/Meltzer have any contacts with relevant information about confidential contract negotiations, given how the only people with the inside track in this are Viacom execs, UTA and the Carter family themselves... And if Figure Four Weekly have managed to get sources within Spike and UTA, then they should start to grow beyond wrestling into a full media news site as they're doing a heck of a job.

Figure Four have their contacts, but it will be second or third hand information that is based on rumour or hearsay. Its probably Jeremy Borash and some disgruntaled lower midcarders they're talking to who are just relaying whatever the gossip is backstage.

I thought Borash was the source for PWinsider as they tend to be more accurate when it comes to TNA. Given how loyal he has been to TNA, I can't see him leaking stories to guys that have been predicting the death of TNA nonstop for the past decade and will likely pat themselves on the back when they're finally correct.

Outside the random flip over to TNA, I watch no other shows on Spike TV. Which stinks because I was all in on that station 10 years ago. DS9 reruns, MXC, WWE and other things I've managed to forget...
Are they still billing themselves as a guy's cable station? Or as that new Esquire TV (which replaced G4) now holding that "honor"?
Also is UFC still doing good numbers on the network? I wonder if maybe they'll expand on that...

UFC left Spike a couple years ago for FOX having a similar bad breakup with them like WWE did with Spike. FOX gave them SPEED to air UFC programming which became Fox Sports 1 and UFC serves as one of the anchors. Spike replace them with Bellator and Glory. Bellator isn't a ratings blockbuster but so far one a successful ppv. Spike also owns Bellator and it's their pride and joy. Spike stopped marketing themselves as Network for Men long before Esquire tv. Only leftovers from the old days is the Guys' Choice Awards. Esquire took over Style Network not G4 which is still around but basically reruns of old tv shows and informercials.

I knew of Bellator, and probably shoulda known better to think UFC and Bellator were both airing on the same network. (Ultimate Fighter, which I see random ads for outside TV, is still around, and I just assumed it was still on Spike vs. airing on another network with that name...) Cops, too. Cops is still on Spike. They'll always have Cops.

Usually if you read TNA related news, it's Borash behind the leak. But that doesn't mean others aren't leaking out info. Cornette and Terry Taylor were sources at one point also. Considering how people are looking out for their own interests since TNA is on borrowed time, I would not be shocked a number of higher tier names aren't leaking out info. If TNA had their way, the news of Bully calling it quits would not been leaked.

My impression is that Spike isn't really aching to get rid of it, but is more or less just done with wrestling. The Network has had wrestling since 1999, and if all reports are to be believed, each experience was a bit of a headache for them. Plus they've put their hat into the MMA world Because it will lead to the next cute story where TNA end up being the friend you let live with you until he gets his feet on the ground and finds a new job, only to realize months in that he never even started to look. "I said that for a few days you could crash. At my place. then I lent you a substantial chunk of cash. Until you found employment.A job that's not beneath you. That never happened I wish I knew what I now do, I'd be far away from You gotta go, it's time for you to leave. You've worn out your welcome. It's time for you to go somehwere else"
