there's no point to a rematch otherwise Redemption. If it had been Bryan had lost, that would have been the story. Bryan training harder and wrestling smarter. Not some convoluted buffoonery where that wasn't the real him or something. WWE didn't just drop the ball here. They stabbed it, popped it, set it on fire, then f***ed the airhole. Exactly. That's the story. Hell to be honest, there IS no point to a re-match. It'd have been far better to get Brock over as even more a monster if there wasn't one. Beyond the clause thing, there's nothing kayfabe wise that says John deserved it given that you got annihilated the first time. As was mentioned, if you're gonna do this though, you follow the Rocky III template of him actually changing tactics. This wasn't that. This was John 'deciding' he could now do it. No growth, no change, no sense.

I'm done with Cena. I can't keep watching them push the reset button to make him invincible. Every single time there's an opportunity to take the character into new places, add some depth to him, make him human... Nope.

Every single time there's an opportunity to take the character into new places, add some depth to him, make him human... Nope. I am too. I just want Cena off my TV. He probably will win at Night of Champions, because who cares about long term booking when Cena is still involved? WWE sure doesn't. He'll be on the top until his body gives out, maybe even past that. He won't go away. In five years we'll probably still be getting Cena vs. Big Show and can he lift someone that big?!? and Cena vs. Kane and oooh look how scary Kane is this time! It may sound like something a pretentious high schooler that just read the book would say (I'm just a mere pretentious college student), but WWE's current state (in addition to its treatment of its fans) reminds me of 1984. The sneaker clad foot of John Cena has been stomping on the proverbial face of the audience that hates him for a very long time, in a desperate attempt to blot them out or bore them enough to leave.

They'd already shown Cena training hard for the match. It was part of the montage with Brock's training. Redemption in this case is learning from mistakes. Cena wasn't prepared for the ass-kicking he got. He underestimated Brock and overestimated his own abilities therein. Lesnar flat-out schooled him and made him look the fool (and it was glorious). No amount of "getting aggressive" will change that. He has to go back to the drawing board and fight smarter and more strategically. Because in no rational universe does it make sense that Cena can in any way match Lesnar's wrath and brutality. That's just stupid.

Despite the colossal headache I've had all day and being an hour late to start Raw (we just had to watch newest episode of The Strain first) I somehow managed to sit through all of Raw.
And I wish I hadn't.
I had to throw my hands up at the end *shakes head*
Cena gets his ass handed to him by Brock at Summerslam, is gone for a week as if that beating did some damage only for him to come back 'stronger than ever' and demolish the entire Wyatt family?!
I'm no longer able to can... or care at this point.
I just...
Ugh.

The only salvageable option now is for Brock to savage him even more savagely in the rematch.

Cena is the heel to us (and about half the crowd if not more), what he did tonight was good heat. That we're at all worried WWE will undo what they did at Summerslam shows that it's working, it'll be a match people want to see.
Brock will be the champ until he loses it at WrestleMania I'd say, and Cena will lose clean again at Night of Champions. Or should I say, Night of THE BEAST!

That's just stupid. Hell, getting more aggressive is how people often make mistakes and do worse. What he needed to do was start watching film of Brock and looking for weakness. He needed to talk to vets like Booker T, Regal, and Finlay and say "how the hell do I not get suplexed that much". And they can have him go "ok, I can't match him in strength, what can I do?" and he can work on speed, work on striking. Anything but this. I would be fine with him using a Ouji board to talk to Eddie Guerrero at this point. And I love Eddie, favoritealltime, I want no Cena stink on his ghost and it'd still be better booking than this shit.

WWE will never change until there is a promotion that can actually compete with them so get ready for twice the Squashes him overcoming Brock Lesnar and the Walrus Paul Heyman and soon to a WWE near you John Cena 22 time WWE Champion

People when Cena got buried at SS..... People when Cena buried Bray...... Rolls eyes..... BIG difference Cena's burial was a long time coming. Everytime Wyatt has a chance to get some momentum he hits WWE's concrete ceiling (Cena)

See, him having his doubts and not knowing if he could even face Brock again would be interesting. That would actually sell the vulnerability that they tried to push so hard throughout the show and make the guy a well rounded character. Nope, he's gonna "make a statement to Brock!" Because even after getting his ass kicked Cena can't legitimately be vulnerable. I get where they are coming from, but "I'm going to get creamed" right before he does get creamed doesn't really sell the rematch, which he will assuredly lose by pretty much everyone's estimation. You can't really have Brock devour all hope if there isn't any. I don't like what they're doing with it, exactly, but I get why they are doing it.

People when Cena got buried at SS..... People when Cena buried Bray...... Rolls eyes..... This is like being angry at people for enjoying Doomsday battering Superman and then crying at the Joker murdering Robin.
