So how many episodes exactly is that, and why dont they just say that? The 100 hours comment just sounds like they want to hide the fact that it wont be every episode.

It's from sept 4 1995 up to the last nitro of 1996 I believe. This is just the start, they're not going to put it all at once. That is a great chunk of shows they're adding.

That would make sense. Nitro went 2 hours right around the time Hall arrived, so hitting the 100 hour mark around the end of 96 makes sense

Looks like 95-96 at first, then 97-98, then 99 to the end.

While these eps should be fun and interesting, I'm REALLY waiting for the 97 ones.
Mostly for when Sting REALLY starts going after the nWo. Those were fun segments.

I have never watched a single Nitro or WCW PPV. I'm going to start with this.

I'm really looking forward to this. Me too. I didn't watch a lot of early Nitros because I was a kid and preferred the WWF I grew up with.

This kind of thing is the sole reason I subscribed and renewed. I can't wait!

Yeah from roughly April 1996 up until about August 1998 WCW Nitro was a solid enough show. People forget that WCW was largely better than the WWF for the first half of 1996 before the NWO stuff truly took off. That said, the 1997 Nitro shows are competent but ultimately forgettable when you compare it to the brilliant Raws of that era, regardless of WCW's win streak.
Around the time Bischoff starting doing Leno routines and the Warrior debuted WCW's quality just went into a nosedive from which they would not recover. They still drew pretty big money until about April/May 1999, but late summer of 1998 was the beginning of the end.

Agreed about 1996-1997. 1998 though, has not held up for me. The nWo Hollywood/Wolfpack angle is ridiculously terrible, the Horsemen came back and proceeded to do nothing of value and then break up in a few months, and DDP was inserted into the Benoit/Raven rivalry and completely ruined it. The brightest spot of 1998 is Chris Jericho, who basically owns the entire year.

After watching the NWO episode of The Monday Night War I am really hyped to watch WCW during its glory years, it sounds f***ing awesome.

My cable system never carried TNT and it wasn't until my parents got DirecTV in late 2000 that I was able to watch most of the Nitros.
About a year and a half ago, I went through and did a rewatch project of the first year of episodes, probably up until about October '96 when time and energy went elsewhere.
I was amazed at how well these shows still held up to today's standards of wrestling, storytelling, production and overall product. Even during the crap years of 1995, Nitro seemed to age better than almost any other product from that time period.

How ironic. One year off of twenty years from when the Monday Night War began, it all begins. Again.
Oh yeah. This is going to be fun to watch.

Are they going to have the matching RAWs? Because I really want to watch the shows back to back.

Nitro started as a two hour show, so I would think 100 hours covers 50 episodes, or about one year worth of shows.
