Two thoughts: First, I try my best not to judge based on appearance. As stated in a previous thread, I adhere to a philosophy that no woman is ever ugly so long as she has a good heart. That said, there are some cases that push those beliefs to the limit-case in point, a 300 pound woman who squeezed herself into shorts that looked like they would plead for mercy if they could talk and with the word "JUICY" on the ass. All I could think was "You're full of something, but it ain't juice!"
And second-as a red blooded male, I have no issue with a beautiful woman showing it off a bit. But if you are going to make yourself up like that, don't get snippy about the attention it draws. I have this very same issue with "sexy cosplay;" don't claim it is for artistic or creative purposes, if you are going to dress up like that you are doing it because you want the attention, and that means ALL the attention not just a certain type or from certain people.

A lot of the time, the attention that's drawn is sexual harassment and they have good reason to be snippy. So that's bullshit. I'm really sorry everyone, haha, I didn't bring my lunch either in my haste to get to work so I'm really cranky. I'm waiting to go to work after we go through this orientation nonsense.

I don't get it, but that's because I feel extremely uncomfortable if only half my torso is covered if I were to lay on a couch, so I can't imagine walking around like that all day. I guess Winnie the Pooh did it before it was cool. Pooh also doesn't have pants, so I can't say his is a midriff top

Here is my take on some girls on POF who take selfies of them in bikinis or in their underwear (And yes, I have seen some do that), they're bound to get attention. I am well aware that girls on there often get creepy messages from guys, but I sometimes laugh about them because deep down, I'm like "Good luck not getting pervy messages." At the same time, I also like what I see. I am not one to judge on what a woman wears because she chooses what to wear, but then again, I also think that these girls are trying to attract attention or like someone else, give themselves an ego boost.

Don't let Michael Coello, HMARK, or Andrew is Good see this thread. Seriously, none of that. Whether you agree with someone's posts or not, doesn't mean to effectively call them out. I'm calling you out, Mozenrath!! Down at the shops, after sunset! And don't bring your glove. Or that weird, floating, snake fish thing. Seriously, what the hell is that thing?

A person wears whatever they wear because they like it; some want attention, some want to look stylish, some feel confident while wearing it, some blah blah blah any number of reasons. Going any deeper than that leads to nothing but stereotypes and unnecessary character judgments.

What most guys (including myself, despite actually knowing otherwise) will never really understand is that how/why women dress, most of the time, has nothing to do with men or wanting me to look at them.
They're either dressing for comfort, for style or to impress/fit in/stand out to their female friends and associates. Its maybe got 7% to do with men and 93% to do with all that other stuff.
So when guys are like, "ugh, don't dress that way if you don't want us looking at you," just know you're kidding yourself and trying to rationalize the fact that you're leering at a woman who probably doesn't want the attention.
I say this as a guy who loves to leer at women on the street.
And - AND - lets not kid ourselves guys. I mean, lets seriously not BS ourselves here: It doesn't matter what a woman wears. She could be in a f***ing snow parka, ski pants with a poncho on top and we'd still leer at her if we thought she was hot. So lets not pretend like its the clothes.
Again - I say this as someone who just ogled a woman on the train while coming to work.

It doesn't matter, it's always bad and the victim is never to blame. I also hate it because it's normally a lame excuse, because for the most part, it doesn't matter what they wear. A woman could walk around naked and not have to deal with that negative attention. Besides, men aren't these brainless apes that can't control themselves.

Also its very self-oriented and obtuse to assume that someone does something like wear a certain type of clothing to attract male attention. Ask nearly any woman - they don't need to dress a certain way to get male attention.

There are a lot of women that I find attractive that I don't stare at.

Like, I know it was joked that HMark and myself and definitely others would come into a thread like this and that the thread would get heated, but like, stuff like this could easily be solved by talking to women about their experiences. Like, I started getting into feminism simply from listening to women and their experiences and hardships simply because they have more orifices in their body then I do. And then empathy takes over.

There are a lot of women that I find attractive that I don't stare at. You're a better man than me! haha! But yeah - I love the old "its their choice to dress that way - so they can't be surprised when dudes stare!" routine. Its like, yeah - If you walk around with a wallet in your back pocket you can't be surprised when someone tries to steal it. Don't wear that wallet if you don't want it to happen!!! The ridiculously false notion that every or even most women dress a certain way for male attention needs to be squashed down because it is utter nonesense. The only reason a man would think that is beacuse we are unable to comprehend what goes on in a woman's head so we just assume that their thought process is the same as ours.

Yet again, people rushing to say people are not all the same and at the same time see no problem in telling others what they "know" why people do what they do.
And that's my entry in this trainwreck.

What's with ugly people thinking they can leave their specified ugly zone? I shouldn't have to look at ugly fat people.
