Honestly it's not a difficult concept to understand. If you're a creep people will be weirded out by you giving someone the old up and down checking them out. If you're not a creep enjoy the beautiful scenery and store one in the spank bank. Sometimes we can all be creeps while checking out a stranger, just keep the dumb look off your face and smile if you get caught checking out the goods and you'll be fine. If they smile back say hello. In closing here's Dave Chappelle giving a great outlook on people dressing a certain way.

I agree he should have one last run I'm pretty sure he's dead. But I guess Koko can have one last run. You'd be surprised. My wife has one, her name is Cala. Got it when the bird is 18 months old. That things gonna outlive us both they can live up to 70 years old. Yes it talks, it has quite the colorful vocabulary. Blue and Gold Macaw, if you like a quiet house don't get one.

But when we discuss these issues, it'd be nice to see people offer opinions while adding the caveat "Hey, I'm not a [woman/minority/person suffering from mental illness/etc.], but I'm curious about [whatever issue]", which is a much, much more respectful way to go about it. Honestly, though? To be real... Seeing how shit like this usually turns out, the best solution is always for people to know when to stay in their lanes. Like, as a cis-dude who identifies as a male, I don't have anything to say to a woman about how a woman reacts to...the shit she gets being a woman. I understand we think our opinions about everything should matter, but you wouldn't think to talk shit about a neurosurgeon's job just because you also have a brain. A lot of people would benefit from understanding there's some things you can't give your opinion about because to give your opinion regardless tends to reveal you to be a jerk who doesn't have any idea of what they're talking about. I think that's a basic part of the maturation process. A woman has forgotten more about dealing with Schrodinger's Pervert and all the things surrounding that than I'll ever learn by reading about on the internet or talking to them. Believe me, I agree; I'm a high school history teacher, and one of the first things I try to put to my students is that they have to stop thinking that all opinions are valid, or that you're entitled to your own conclusions about things you're, on the whole, ignorant about. Maybe it's a very American thing, but as a culture we're in love with the idea of "it's MY opinion, and that's it!", even when it's coming from people who haven't achieved a deep education/study, done a lot of field work, or simply haven't lived the experiences they're spouting opinions off about. That said, all I ask if somebody DOES wish to speak on something they're not really qualified to comment on is that they make it clear that they have a lack of expertise on the subject. On the whole it's probably better to just remain quiet, listen to experts or people who do know these things firsthand, and grow from there, but I know that's sadly not something most people will do.

Good lord, this thread hit six pages. Man, y'all need some pussy or dick in your life because this stinks of being deprived, a borderline virgin, or straight up having no game in the first place. Oogling does not count.

I don't get it, but that's because I feel extremely uncomfortable if only half my torso is covered if I were to lay on a couch, so I can't imagine walking around like that all day. I guess Winnie the Pooh did it before it was cool. That Pooh Bear was always such a hipster.

And you can't say shit about it being wrong if her standards don't align with yours, considering she's the one you're eyeballing. Maybe her rack is staring at his eyes? Maybe he keeps trying to turn away to avoid their lustful leer, but there they are, locked onto his eyes pervasively like lustful tractor beams. Have some respect for his dignity and personal space, perverted and entitled titties. He probably just wants to have a nice lunch. He doesn't need this shit. It's 2014, by god. I thought we were past this.

It's not really a big deal from me. But then again, I live in South Florida, where it's not uncommon to see girls walking around in bikini tops.

Because the likes of Miu Miu and Balenciaga brought them back last year and it normally takes a trend a year or so to trickle down from high fashion into the mainstream.
There's a late '80s-early '90s boom going on right now in fashion and it's a huge trend.
If people want to try to be stylish, more power to them.

I know I'm late to the party, but my take:
You should dress in a way that shows a little self respect regardless of how you look. No one has a right to stare at you no matter what you wear, doing that is just plain rude or creepy.
But, if you dress a certain way people will automatically judge you or stare at you. If you choose to dress in a way that will draw stares or judgments don't complain when those things come to you. In making the choice of how you dress you also accept the benefits/consequences of that choice, same with any other action in your life.
Dave Chapelle (above) nailed it perfectly. IF you dress/conduct yourself like you are successful/self respecting people will treat you as such. If you dress trashy or slutty and people treat you like one, don't complain.

Me, I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda guy. I enjoy seeing a good booty butt. I'm going to skip saying anything else because I'm sleepy and just cut to the chase: Just don't get caught looking. Boom. Good lord, this thread hit six pages. Man, y'all need some pussy or dick in your life because this stinks of being deprived, a borderline virgin, or straight up having no game in the first place. Oogling does not count. Not sure how someone getting laid or not is going to help what boils down to a "she's asking for it so she deserves it whether she likes it or not!/she just wants attention/respect/harassment/Koko B. Ware/comfort" thread. No amount of sex or lack of it is going to help out this one. FAN threads about women just don't work.

People should learn that just because a woman wears a bit of revealing clothing, it doesn't mean she's doing it FOR you or another man. She's most doing it for herself because *gasp* maybe it's comfortable or makes her feel confident. I wear push-up bras and am I doing it for attention? Hell no. It makes my outfits look better. HB (Shizzle) I want to state first and foremost that I'm quoting you to respond to the argument you are making ( because it's a good summary of a perspective I want to address) and not you specifically. The crux of this is that the decision to wear revealing clothing is a personal and private nature. It's not for anyone but the person who picked out and wore said attire. But how exactly do you retain this privacy and exclusivity in a PUBLIC setting? If we are to be literal about this you would have to tell everyone who is looking at you that they can't because they neither were given or asked for consent. When you open your front door and step outside there are several unavoidable things. One of which is humanity using it's sense of sight. To clarify I'm talking about general observation. Because obvious violations of personal space and decency aside ( like being 6 inches away from someone and staring at that person's naughty bits ) it seems like the most natural way of knowing someone else is in your presence is being demonized as sexist and misogynistic. Unless you are a hermit, part of what you take into account about the articles of clothing you choose to wear on any given day is that you will be in the presence of another. So in my opinion to say public appearance and the decision to reveal certain amounts of your anatomy never ever correlate is disingenuous.

I'd just like to say that in public, people can look at eachother, that's my view. (pun intended) If somebody male or female is wearing a top showing some portion of their torso, you're legally allowed to look. Of course most people "sneak" a gaze and look away after a couple seconds, I typically do this as well. Or if they're wrapped up head to toe like a mummy, you can also look, not saying it's because something is showing. But it's all just people looking at people, you may look at eachother.
And of course, there are women who want to free the nipple and want to have the right to go topless in public like men have. Not everyone agrees that the upper part of a breast (cleavage showing) is controversial or somehow bad. Not everyone thinks looking is bad. In my opinion, there's some unnecessary shaming in both directions.
Everyone has their own lines, nobody will agree on anything, but this to me is very natural and uncontroversial stuff. We're a society, just a bunch of mammals walking around, sometimes they might look at one another, the world keeps on turning.

I'm still confused how some of us can't seem to differentiate between the act of looking at/noticing an attractive person (or even a person who's not overly attractive to you, but is simply wearing something that gets your attention), and the act of harassing or ogling that person.
The first is natural, and just about everybody of all sexual orientations and genders does it. The latter isn't.
That's about it.

I think it's unfair just to assume that it's just men that do the ogling.
Like when I'm doing squats at the gym in my daisy dukes and a testicle pops out on only my second rep. I gotta finish the other eight before I tuck that sucker back in and I'd appreciate if I could have some privacy when this happens.
Eyes up here, ladies!!1!

I mean...when I go out, I like to look nice (and frankly, attractive to possible mates) while wearing something comfortable. Why should it be any different for girls?
