Did anyone used to find it ridiculous how Metal and Superstars were the exact same matches with different announcers?
Over here they both aired on the same channel one after the other on a Sunday, so we had 2 hours of the same 3 matches shown in a different order with different commentary.
Also the matches were f***ing terrible, It was basically Tazz, Gangrel, Dean Malenko, Essa Rios, Hardcore Holly etc fighting local jobbers whilst Jim Cornette, the Coach,Michael Hayes or whoever ignored the match and talked about whatever had been happening on Raw
Kids don't know their born today not having to suffer the awful C-shows of the Attitude era.

Thought this would be about superstars who listen to Metal music.

Maybe so, but they also miss the greatness of a Sunday Night Heat leading in to a Pay Per View.

I loved Jakked/Metal for the simple fact that it gave the undercard wrestlers some exposure. I was a big mark for Essa Rios, Gangrel, Steve Blackman, Crash Holly, Kaientai, Malenko, etc, and Jakked gave them a chance to shine. And some of those "local jobbers" were actually big names on the indie scene, in paticular i remember some memorable matches involving Lo-ki, Mike Modest, Tony Jones, and even AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

I unashamedly used to love Metal because of the random matches on there like Prince Albert v Essa Rios. I have fond memories of getting up to watch this show at 7am before I left for College back in the day.

One was TV-14 and one was TV-PG, that's why they were different.

i kinda wish they'd show some of the UK/rest of world heat, etc. I've seen a few online, but not many episodes. Im guessing some were aired the night of the ppv kickoff sunday night heats

Man, I used to love my weekend mornings of WWE. Saturday mornings would be SmackDown then Livewire to give me my one hour Raw review (was not able to watch Raw on Friday nights at the time). Livewire I think might have changed to something else before becoming Bottom Line. Sundays were for Superstars and then became Metal. I remember getting a lot of Viscera matches, and Ivory vs. Jacqueline a lot. Metal became SmackDown exclusive after the draft for a few weeks before becoming Velocity and moving to nights on Sky Sports and After Burn was put there. Then, Heat used to be on Channel 4 in the afternoons in 2000/2001. Heat was brought to Sunday mornings in 2003 until it ended in 2008. Good times!

Im guessing some were aired the night of the ppv kickoff sunday night heats From what I remember, in the UK we got the regular weekly Heat as normal on the Sunday morning at 11am and then we would get the pre-PPV Heat live too at 12midnight. If it wasn't a PPV week, the regular taped version was repeated there. Velocity used to be shown before that too. When I used to tape PPVs due to having to get up early for school, I'd have Velocity, live Heat then live PPV recorded lol.

I grew up watching Superstars. Didn't have cable to watch RAW and the video store had PPV VHS Tapes but they had very little to choose from. Video games like Royal Rumble, RAW, Warzone and Attiude were other ways I kept in touch with WWE. Then one day they stopped showing Superstars on Saturday mornings. One day after finally getting satellite I turned the channel and I caught an X-Pac match witha debuting Test on Heat I believe. Then I would always watch Metal, Jacked, and Heat. I loved watching Heat the night of a ppv. Once Velocity came on I would watch that first then switch over to Adult Swim for my anime fix.

I remember stuff like Jakked and Metal only played on this local station when I was a kid, so whenever our cable got cut off I'd have to stick to those shows to let me know what happened on Raw and later Smackdown. Velocity was like that too but just for SD, haha good times.
