So I've noticed in multiple threads that people are souring on him left and right during the last few weeks. But why? He is my least favorite of the former Sheild, but I remember people were psyched about his inevitable super push when it was in the beginning stages circa last winter. Is it his subpar mic skills are now more noticeable? People are complaining that he is being forced down our throats, but this push has been be building up slowly since last Survior Series, that's a long time. Another thing to consider is that both Rollins and Ambrose seem to have bright futures so it isn't like they are getting the short end of the stick. For an IWC that loves to see new stars come to the forefront, the turn around on Regins, makes me think that we are never happy. I'm not a Regins supporter per say, but the souring on Roman Reigns doesn't really sit well with me bc when I see a guy going from getting no complaints to Cena hate, it just seems that we blindly hate whoever wwe hand picks. I know I might sound ignorant in this mini rant, but I'm just trying to make sense of this as everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Because he's mediocre in everything but the looks department yet he's getting a huge push ahead of guys who can do everything that he can but better.
Plus, his booking has been dreadful. All faces need to show vulernability to generate tension and sympathy from the crowd. This is true in all forms of media. If Luke kicked Vader's ass in their first encounter, where would the tension be by their end encounter? Reigns shows no vulnerability at all so there is little reason to care or get invested in his matches and segments. There's no feeling of "ohhh Reigns is in trouble here. Can he do it?" it's just "Reigns wins lol".
Finally his promos are utter dreadful. I might care more if he had a manager. Someone who can actually talk, show emotion and build a match. Pair him with Regal.

Because he's taking a spot away from somebody more "worthy", like that guy from the indies.

Because the WWE has a fairly poor track record with letting smaller but more talented wrestlers succeed when a larger, more body-building-looking wrestler can be chosen instead. And that strikes people as unfair and contributing to less entertaining TV than would otherwise be happening.
Also please, no, specific individual examples of smaller wrestlers succeeding is not evidence against the WWE having this kind of bad pattern.

Because I asked him for an autograph when he was at the playground with his daughter and he said he was busy. That entitled dick.

Do we really need another one of these threads?
I feel like everything that needed to be said about Reigns has already been said in the last dozen or so threads we've had about him recently.

Eh, it's still not as prevalent and widespread as Drew McIntyre hate was once upon a time. There was literally a new thread every other hour.

I swear we get a new one every day. Either someone say he don't deserve or another one about a butthurt fan of Reigns that whines about it.

Shit hit the fan.

Here's the answer you are looking for: people are realising that the WWE has chosen Reigns as "their boy" and they don't think he's worthy. Hate to sound like a broken record, but with all due respect, that was inevitable since last fall, and mostly everyone was cool with it. The only thing that sounds fair is that, he hasn't improved as we thought he would. In terms of the push, I don't think WWE is forcing him down our throats. In retrospect, the pace of the push has been slow and steady.

It's because WWE seems dead-set on doing the Batista thing again. A lot of fans didn't want to cheer Batista over Bryan (and CM Punk). Same deal here. Fans don't want to see "Above Average Big Dude" get a mega-push if it's going to be at the expense of Dean Ambrose (or a returning D-Bry).
Especially since WWE has shown that if you're not in THE main-event storyline, they won't really do *anything* with you.

"Pushing him down our throats" is always an iffy thing that everyone might have a slightly different definition of him, but you need only look to the night after Elimination Chamber. The Wyatt/Reigns match was a major wake-up call of a lot of people, and even if it didn't linger in memory for most people and they remained fairly pro-Reigns, his solo work has definitely served to expose and remind people that he is not yet really ready for a main event singles push. Going from involvement in the hottest team in the company, which most people really liked, to putting on singles stinkers, is a good way to have people turn their backs on you.
