Also, that woman isn't racist because she's not attracted to Asian dudes. I'm not attracted to Asian women personally, they just don't do anything for me. I don't like blonde white women either, so I guess that makes me racist against my fellow white people? I see a lot of dudes say stuff like this (though generally about black women) and I don't understand why people think that's just something to come out and say, y'know? Asian women run the gamut of looks, shapes and sizes. To say you aren't attracted to Asian women means that you'd give no Asian woman a second look. None. I don't think you know how wide of a net that casts and how that looks when you say that, so I'm gonna do something I always advise people against doing: I'm gonna use black women as an example, though I wholeheartedly admit it's because I know of a lot of black celebrities and I'm phoning this explanation in. Let's say I'm one of those Black dudes, lose my damned mind and say "Black women just don't do anything for me." Which again, dudes say all the time. Even on here. When I say this, I don't just mean the ones that get television time like a Nicki Minaj or Beyonce. It's including women like Halle Berry, Vanessa Williams, Kelly Rowland, Gabourey Sibidhe, Laverne Cox and damn near a third of the cast of "Orange Is The New Black", Alicia Fox, Cameron, Naomi, CCH Pounder, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Kerry Washington, Sanaa Lathan, Mariah Carey, Soledad O'Brien, Gabrielle Union, Rutina Wesley, Nicole Beharie, Ruth "Flowers" Negga, Jasika Nicole, Lupita Nyong'o..."the list goes on and on." </Bryan Alvarez> It's excluding a tiny woman like Jasika Nicole, who's "light, bright and damn near white" to the point that while she clearly is and does consider herself a black woman she's got one white parent... To Gabourey Sibidhe who is a large, black woman whose skin ranges to the darker shades. And...any and every black woman in between. Which, to bring it back to what you said, leaves a lot of thinkers to kinda wonder what exactly is it about all those women that "don't do it" for you. A vast majority of them don't even resemble each other and have nothing in common other than the fact they're Asian. So I dunno man, I'd want to amend that statement with all the quickness.

Why didn't they show any non white racists? Because most racism is more likely to come from a white person, given that whites are the majority in America. Racism can come from people of all races but non-whites being racist toward whites is not even a fraction compared to racism experienced from whites to non-whites. Plus this joke is lampooning the "I'm not a racist but..." crowd.

Maybe even in a video about racism, they couldn't hire a black guy. Anyway, I do like that subversive forms of racism are getting increased scrutiny as time goes on. It always bugs me to see people talk about the south like the Mason-Dixon Line is a magic barrier put up by sorcerers and that bigotry vanishes. Definitely a rude awakening for the sheltered and naive once they are faced with the realities of racism being a global problem.

You guys also have to keep in mind that they are making fun of a specific type of racism, not all racism in general. Do you expect them to mention every single type of racism?
It's like getting upset at a video joking about pepsi because they didn't mention every other type of soda.

Good video. Now, if there was a corresponding video for men's rights activists, that'd be great.

New York City is thought of as this cosmopolitan, progressive paradise and yet they had stop and frisk until just last year. A program that pretty much made profiling of blacks and latinos into a performance metric.

See, I see far more complaining about anti-white racism then I ever see real examples of racism, whereas racism against other groups is overt and frequent. I'm not saying that there's no racism against whites, but I think it's used far more as a political rallying point than something that actually affects people in way that influences their life on a regular basis.

The first one is actually a valid argument. Personally, I don't think ANY race should have a separate tv network, but I'm sick of everyone else being allowed to do stuff but white people. It's racism against white people and I'm tired of the fact that it still goes on in this country. It's not really a valid point, as most tv channels are geared towards white demographic already, they just don't need to say as much. A dedicated White Entertainment Television is redundant when 90% of entertainment is aiming for them. That's what happens when you're in the majority, and then you get to the point where people complain about tokenism. And the racism against whites thing is half-cute and half-distressing. What exactly is a "white demographic"? Most people I know watch the same crap on tv, regardless of their skin color. Sports, Walking Dead, Family Guy, etc.

It's like saying I'm homophobic because I'm not attracted to men.

That's what they're saying though. If you have a show with a mainly black cast, it suddenly becomes a 'black' movie; whereas something like Friends isn't seen as a 'white' show. I.E. white people don't have to worry about representation at all, we're all over the place in shows and movies.

The difference between racism against white people and racism against non-whites is that the former only exists in the US at an individual level. The latter exists at an institutional level.
There is no institutionalized racism in America against white people.

It's like saying I'm homophobic because I'm not attracted to men. Come on, man. That comparison doesn't even make sense. I gave you that list of different looking black women to kinda show you the point that even under a moniker people swear is limiting, there's a wide range of looks that come with it. But I ain't even mad you missed that.... You didn't say "most other women." You said "Asian women." You are in fact amending your statement. ...and to not be drawn into a multi-page argument, I'll take it!

Or a building which was labeled something it wasn't by detractors, trying to associate it with the site of a place where it wasn't. That's probably as close as I can get to completing that thought without going too far.

What I don't like about this video is that it criticizes ordinary white people but not the super-rich white people who are ultimately the ones responsible for institutionalized racism.
I'm a middle-class European-American. People of my socioeconomic status don't own the record companies that screwed a lot of minorities out of money. People of my socioeconomic status aren't casting all-British and Irish people in movies about Arabia, Persia, China or India. People of my socioeconomic status don't have a centuries-long history of enslaving or disenfranchising minorities. You get the idea.
Yet for some reason, pop culture always likes to blame the regular folks for racism.
It's like the "Yellow Peril" phenomenon on the West Coast in the 19th century. Most people when they look back on it get mad at all the regular white people who picketed or mugged people and go "BOOOOOOOO NATIVISM!" but don't pause and ask themselves why those people were nativists in the first place. Read between the lines and you'll notice that Chinese immigrants were terkin' der jerbs because mine and railroad companies hired Chinese laborers at wages that no settled worker would dare accept. The Chinese, who having just gotten off the boats had little idea they were getting exploited so badly, jumped at the opportunities. The business magnates, deflecting all responsibilities, allowed hostility to brew while they sat in their ivory towers all day.
That doesn't absolve common people of any crimes committed out of bigotry and hatred, but I really don't like how elites always get a free pass from this sort of thing despite them being the ones most directly involved in these problems.
