So what the hell happened here? I was on reddit and apparently a load of celebrities phones got hacked. There are pics of multiple celebrities floating the net including Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande etc...

Not sure what the big deal is, one can find pics of hot chicks doing way freakier things without feeling like a massive creep for intruding upon their privacy on porn sites.

There's MANY pictures of Jennifer Lawrence doing MANY things with her body. Victoria Justice is the other notable celebrity trending, though there's naked arse pictures of both Ariana Grande and Hope Solo.
Apparently some guy is hacking many celebrity iCloud accounts. Some say this person is working for TMZ. Invading celebrity privacy has gone to a new low.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the guy works for TMZ. I mean, it's hard to find a lower form of scum than them.

How do I say, "Stop putting nude/sensitive pics of yourself on internet/cloud-based devices" without sounding like I'm blaming the victims? The hackers are the ones who deserve the shame and negativity, but I know I'd never put a sensitive picture of myself on a device that's capable of accessing the internet. That should be especially true for celebrities who are much bigger targets for such attempts.

Hacking into the voicemail of a missing schoolgirl (who was found dead a few months later) is about as low as it gets.

I hope 4Chan (the people reportedly behind the leak) get crushed for this.

I've stopped believing that these people's phones were "hacked" the frequency with which this stuff happens. Either that or they are incredibly naive to think someone wouldn't try hacking their stuff to see what they could find. It is scummy on the part of the hacker, more so on TMZ's side if they've hired some guy to do it, but it gets tougher to feel sorry for these people. Funny how regarding the Jennifer Lawrence ones, there seem to be three distinct reactions: 1) Distraught fangirls swearing death upon whoever leaked the pics. 2) the "Who Cares? She's hot!" faction 3) the "I never thought she was that hot anyway" lot who are so desperate to appear "different" or "cool". She'll probably be able to come out of it smelling like roses though.

I know we get reality shows from the UK, didn't think this would be the next thing we'd rip off.
I am rather smitten with some of these celebrities, sure, but even then, it's f***ed up for this kind of stuff to get into the hands of people they don't belong to.

They have every right to take private pictures of themselves and to never have them seen by anyone they don't want to. But they should also know that these kind of pics always get leaked, no matter how hard you try to safeguard them.

When I heard of this "leak," I thought it was a joke. Assumed it was a load of crap just to get hits on the Internet. In an incognito window, I wanted to see if those "leaked" pictures of Jennifer Lawrence were legit. I did, and it appears to be true. As for the images themselves, well...meh. I've seen worse.

Victoria Justice is denying the pics of her are legit. A couple are clearly fake but a few look pretty damn real.

Yeah they're at a higher position than most of us, but they still have privacy like we do. If they wanna do what they do with their partners in the privacy of wherever, so be it. You shouldn't have to give up your privacy, sexiness & fun just because there are assholes who have nothing better to do with their lives. And on a selfish note, no one's gonna want to get freaky because there's a chance some coward will leak their photos or attempt to shame them. Messing the game up for all of us.

They're free to take weird ass pictures of themselves and delete them later if they want, and I'm sure this was the case with a considerable number of those pictures. The Cloud just keeps them stored even after deleting them, which is the main problem with it all. Well, that and hackers being generally lousy people.

Some of the photos of Jennifer Lawrence are a little low-rent, but she looks beautiful in the other ones.

I'm as big an opponent of victim-blaming and respectability politics as anybody, but for the life of me, I can't understand putting ANYTHING personal on the cloud. In a world where your own credit cards and e-mails aren't safe, why would you even store something that sensitive in a place with so little security? Especially considering the market for celebrity nudes. All that said, this is a horrible situation, and I hope the hacker gets the damn book thrown at him.
