The team that drafted him (had the rights to him as a player) is absolutely loaded at the position on the team he plays. He really didn't have much of a chance with that team. So now any team in the NFL can pick him up and put him on their team but it's just another one of those cases where there's 50 other guys out there that can do what he can just as good as him, but some bring a little extra (outstanding on kick coverage, things like that) that make them stand out over him so no one has given him a job yet. To add to this I don't know why they were hyping it as "inviting Michael Sam" to RAW. All they are doing is hurting the kid. There is absolutely zero chance of him showing up, and especially saying anything bad about his situation. He's a fringe player trying to get an NFL job, he isn't going to go out and bury anyone. I really don't think this was fair on WWE's part at all. What are they hoping, he comes out and says he doesn't have a job with the Rams cause he's gay? Besides that not being true at all, it will just make sure he never gets a job in the NFL. He doesn't have a spot on the Rams because they are loaded at the position. He doesn't have a job on other lesser defenses around the league because of his sexual orientation. I disagree. Nobody gives a damn about that in the NFL. If he were a JJ Watt caliber player he would be on a team. He's one of a hundred fringe players who is not on a team.

I'll probably quit here just because like others I don't want to derail this thread, but would be happy to discuss it further in the other thread that's just about Sam.

Not to derail the thread and last I'll post about it on here, but he doesn't have a job cause really, he's nothing special on the field. Undersized end with a slow first step who does well against lesser opposition but gets rendered invisible against quality tackles. That's his college career. In the pros he'll get that quality every snap of every down. He won't get to pad meaningless pre season stats against guys that will be bagging groceries by October. This is the kind of nonsense that is being spewed by people who wish to mask blatant discrimination. Here are the facts In the past 10 years, all other SEC Defensive Players of the Year were selected in the first round of the NFL draft save Demeco Ryans who was selected in the 2nd round. Michael Sam was selected in the 7th round. This preseason, 12 players had 2.5 sacks or more. 10 are on active rosters. 1 is on a practice squad. 1 is Michael Sam. Chris Kluwe just settled a lawsuit with the Minnesota Vikings alleging that his special teams coach used inappropriate homophobic language toward him and that he was released in part due to his pro marriage equality stance. The Vikings agreed to give to LGBT charities and attend sensitivity trainings. In the last 3 years several players have made remarks that stated they would not accept a gay teammate or disgust at Michael Sam being drafted. Of course this says nothing about the many anonymous GMs and scouts who have stated that they would avoid Sam because of the "distraction" he brings. There has also been one story in recent memory detailing the showering habits of an NFL rookie. Can you guess who that rookie is? So, please, save the garbage that Michael Sam got a fair hearing and wasn't good enough. People excusing blatant discrimination is dishonest and disgusting. All it does is let the bigots off the hook.

The crowd chants "Husky Harris" at Bray Wyatt? He wrestles as Husky Harris and the crowd chants "Bray Wyatt" at him.

Sorry, I derailed this thread without realising there was already a thread about him already.

I'm going to Baltimore on Sunday for the Ravens game.
So I guess that means I'm getting the hell out of there before the s*** hits the fan.

So, please, save the garbage that Michael Sam got a fair hearing and wasn't good enough. People excusing blatant discrimination is dishonest and disgusting. All it does is let the bigots off the hook. Fine seeing as I was called out like this. First off preseason stats are absolutely meaningless. Period. If you are running around beating 3rd and 4th string tackles once a game while getting 30-40 snaps, guess what. You really aren't that good. You're ok, average, in terms of NFL end rusher you are mediocre. If he was "good" he would be doing more then showing up every 30 snaps or so. If preseason was any indicator of a team then everyone should fear the Raiders for putting up 41 on the Seahawks defense then right? Garoppolo should be starting over Brady cause he threw for more yards right? Osweiler should be starting over Peyton Manning then cause he had a better passer rating this preseason then. Preseason stats don't mean shit. In terms of his SEC DPOY, in SEC play he had a total of 7.5 sacks and 33 total tackles in 9 games. 6 of his sacks were against 2 teams. One was a Florida team starting it's 3rd string OT, and the other 3 were against Vanderbilt. Other than that he played against quality tackles and was once again, rendered invisible. This was his performance. Please tell me where the blatant discrimination is that you say happened. Could it be happening with certain teams. Maybe. Every team. Doubtful. Nobody is letting anyone off the hook. It just comes to a players talent level and what else they can bring to the team. What he brings are, in terms of NFL talent evaluators, a "nonstop" motor, limited physical skills and a slow launch with not much chance for skill improvement due to his limitations. These aren't my words these are words of talent evaluators BEFORE he came out. Before he even came out they were talking about Sam as a 4-6 round talent, if that. This is not revisionist history, it's the truth. He was co SEC DePOY due to 2 games against terrible offensive lines and a creampuff non conference schedule. When he faced good talent, he didn't show. That's not being a bigot as you say. That's a god damn fact.

Oh you mean that spiraling staircase that hasn't even appeared on Raw the last few times WWE was in Baltimore?
Yay?

I'll appear on Raw!...as a tiny red speck in the back...when I should be at class. I know I'm not as awesome as the staircase, but I'm a better actress than half the roster. That's got to count for something, right?

A loser leaves town match in which the loser leaves town on a Mayflower moving van? Michael Sam gets to talk about his feelings to a crowd who won't give a shit and didn't pay money to see him? About a team in a different conference a thousand miles away. But bro, he's totally gonna shoot on the Rams! I swear to god, on my children's lives he is gonna discuss everything you've been reading about in the sheets!

I haven't been reading this thread very carefully but is Michael Sam going to cut an interview in front of the stairs in Baltimore next week?

Wait! I got it! A fake "Ray Rice" is gonna assault Brie Bella, drag her down the Baltimore Stairway, and be punished by Commissioner HHH with a 2 hour suspension, and thus this horrendous act, The New Nation is born!
