Vince vetoes it The sooner he and Dunn leave the better I can't imagine why. He made a ****tonne of money in the attitude era with it's 'everyone matters!' booking, Smackdown at it's peak had a card where pretty much everyone mattered, but as Steph and Hunter's backstage role grew, the undercard withered and died. I know Vince is responsible for feeding guys to Cena, but have a hard time imagining that's it's him pushing for more Hunter and Authority segments and making sure there are talents being paid who haven't had a storyline in years.

I love The Authority, even Corporate Kane entertains me. Something about it, it's fun stuff, and I dig the uniquely patronizing condescending vibe that Triple H and Steph go for with it. The opening segment tonight just really made me smile for some reason.

I don't think he pushes for more Steph/Hunter, I'm sure it's more a case of that's what he leaves alone to keep HHH/Steph happy. But that's just a theory Vince had WCW breathing down his neck so he had to make changes to compete, Now he doesn't.

If we really HAVE to have heel authority figures, logical booking says that a year into it we're overdue for a face authority figure to counteract them a little bit

I am waiting for a babyface counterpart to come along by now. This shit has been going on for too long now without any resistance from a babyface perspective. The crowd will love it too, especially if the babyface authority figure is who I think it could be.

But that's just a theory Vince had WCW breathing down his neck so he had to make changes to compete, Now he doesn't. Even during the mid 90s, if you weren't an enhancement talent or a guy borrowed from Memphis or Smokey Mountain, you usually had some storyline to work with, heck, even Bastion Booger had a storyline on Raw at one point and he looked like a bunch of cheap hams held together in a vaguely humanoid shape with duct tape... Their efforts weren't very good, but they tried to get people down the card over, the same can't be said of the post attitude era where Steph and Hunter have had more control of booking.

Steph has been more bearable in recent months, even though I didn't like her bullying towards AJ, who in theory should be able to easily deal with her.
HHH on the other hand always has to be the coolest guy in the room. It sucks.

Their over-involvement in the show is a part of what caused me to tune out over the whole "Authority fires people" saga and up to now as well.
It seems like no one cares that they're abusing their power.
People got fired, the entire roster got abused and there used to be this sentiment/feeling that the roster or someone would rise up and stop the HHH/Steph but now its honestly like the Authority won the war.
No one on the roster seems to even talk about the Authority's abusive ways - they just accept it which is f***ing depressing.

Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't constantly on TV for over a year, doing the nearly the same thing every week. They don't so much annoy me, they just kind of bore me.

Trips hasn't really bugged me for awhile. I can't say Steph annoys me much anymore (during the early Authority days? yes), but the whole handling of the Bella feud annoys me so I guess she can get fault for that?

They do need to go away. The Authority storyline has gone on for over a year! It's not a storyline. They are characters in a group. The Usos are a tagteam - is that a storyline too?

I enjoyed the banter between HHH/Y2J but that was it. It was surprising when Steph came out for the diva segment and the crowd was silent. She didn't even get heat for some of her comments. HHH and Steph can stay but just like every other week show up like they have been doing lately. And use segments with them that actually accomplish something because nothing was really accomplished last night.

AFAIK, the events before The Authority was formed could go back as far as 2011 when CM Punk delivered a shoot to Cena. His words foreshadowed it.

Not until Stephanie hits AJ with like eight or nine Pedigrees in a row. Do it Warrior Queen Steph, it'll make me a fan again.

I don't mind the storyline, just the amount of television it takes up.
