Hey! He changed the system! Michael Hayes said so! It's a pity the documentary wasn't very good and was too mixed in kayfabe to really outdo any other documentary of quality (nowhere near the greatness of Austin/Foley's latest sets) but oh well, at least the match disks are worth the money if you are into collecting. Not good? There are no good WWE documentaries then? In terms of information of interest to me there wasn't much of value in there, no, it was a half kayfabe look with the same talking heads discussing 'this guy, we didn't think he was ready, but he worked with the Undertaker so now he's loved!' despite that being incredibly untrue according to various interviews. Plus baffling notions that now that he was the champion the WWE would change for the better/it'd be a new day for the company etc. We know it wasn't. It was a fun time but nothing changed. It was more kayfabe than new information or interesting stories (bar Joey Mercury having his house paid off my Punk), in that sense the Steve Austin/Mick Foley, and even the Paul Heyman documentaries -which died on its arse 2/3 of the way through- were so far above CM Punks. It's the problem with doing mid-career retrospective documentaries, you can't speak about as much as it's bound to ruin a push or ruin the narrative the company wants to push. Not a knock on CM Punk, the guy was fabulous for 3/4 of his career and I'm still a fan, but the narrative of the documentary and way it was shoved together was very weak to me. Then again I'm very picky about the nature of biographies in all forms, I know mid-career sets are made solely for sales in the WWE but it doesn't mean expectations should be set lower just because it's a product from a person I like in ring. I am VERY picky about everything as most of y'all have probably noticed on this forum, but I hope that makes more sense for why I feel the documentary was a bit flimsy.

I don't know to be honest, his blu-ray is 2.99. That doesn't even cover the cost to make it! Oh it will do, remember thousands of those things are made and production costs for thousands = costs less per item. Plus given the sales figures in the first few months they'd have made an easy & significant profit so even minimal sales at this point just add to the profit. The WWE are a business first so they'd not piss money away unless it was on vanity protein powders, hilarious NFL alternate systems, and a T-Rex skull in Vince McMahon's office. Please tell me Vince actually has a T-Rex skull. That... That would just be so fitting.

I think the OP may have a point. Compare Punk's merch to another alumni like Edge, who's got DVDs and shirts still selling at a decent price, despite being gone for years. Granted this isn't hard proof, but dropping merch prices this low is clearly not something the WWE does to every superstar that leaves. On the flip side, CM Punk moved a great deal more merch than anyone else that has left anytime even semi recently, so it makes sense that they'd have a large backstock of merch available so they were prepared to fill those orders. ...Not to mention those cross branded XXXXXXXXXL CM Punk/World of Warcraft shirts with the custom insulated shirt pocket for mountain dew take up a lot of space on the shelves.

What they don't tell you is that Vince had a T-Rex cloned and brought to life just so he could cut off its head to put on his wall.

Granted this isn't hard proof, but dropping merch prices this low is clearly not something the WWE does to every superstar that leaves. Edge is still on good terms with the company. He's still in the video games in spite of not being around(And could of very easily been cut over the past two games, in '13 he was only a small part of the Attitude Era and in '14 although plenty of people would of complained of his matches missing from Mania it would of only been like 3-4 matches cut), I'm sure if they called tomorrow asking about a new T-Shirt or asking for him to be interviewed in a documentary he'd be happy to agree to it. The only reason Punk is in this year's game, which is what this mess is all about in the first place, is due to playing a major part in the storyline.

...So, in other words, OMG CM PUNK IS RETURNING AT NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS!!!
Seriously though, I'm sad to see that WWE bridge officially burned. I was hoping Punk would come back one day to do something with the E since his career ended so randomly after such a great run, but I can see him being content in retirement.

Thanks to the network Punk is gonna still make some coin, if this would've happened 2 years ago, the WWE would've just simply removed his matches from existence.
Punk being an emotional guy who doesn't take well to what he perceives as betrayals is not gonna be happy and I can't see him returning at this point. According to Ohno/Chris Hero, he wasn't getting along with Punk back in 2003, and Hero lied to Punk about being an open spot in a Chikara card, Punk found out he lied to him and didn't talk to Chris for 4 years until they made peace in 2007, I think it was a big part why ROH never used Hero when Punk was there, its just my opinion.
I hope this matter gets resolved quickly I know he's set for life, but still its gonna be a long process, the WWE is a corporation that doesn't age or cares about the pass of time, they can be in a trial for years, Punk could lose years of his life fighting this, blowing a lot of money on attorneys.

Sources have also reported that Vince walked into Punk's house and destroyed his brand new couch while screaming "f*** YO COUCH, n***a!"

I find it pretty hilarious that they are deeply discounting Punk's merchandise and costing themselves in potential profit, while the Network has the company losing millions.
