Yep, I remember it, it lead me into joining his website's message board when I was 15! Fun times (maybe not for the other members who had to deal with my newbishness, though, haha).

So is this match really all that great, or is Jericho reaching a bit? At the time, no one was saying it was terrible, just ok. A bit disappointing considering you had Y2J and RVD in their primes but he was really over reacting to the whole thing.

Someone should ask Jericho what he thinks of Attack of the Clones now.

I've had the same opportunity and ego was the last thing I got from him. I actually walked from it with more respect and like for the guy - he was super nice and funny. He didn't know me from a hole in the wall before that, but he talked to me like we were old friends and even remembered me months after the fact. Just an all around awesome guy. Yeah, Jericho is a polite/respectful enough person to deal with around Fozzy gig junk, a friend put it best by saying it's almost disappointing to talk to him when you expect some form of Jericho from Raw. Albeit namedropping should be banned from his music life, it's funny at first but he's such a huge now-middle-age rock music mark it can be a bit awkward to hear and it seems to have leaked into his podcast style. I didn't mean it as negative as it comes across having read it back! He's a very cool guy yeah, remembered me, taught me all about the wonders of Grey Goose as we both despaired because the pub didn't sell it, asked me about my band, etc. Not disputing any of those facts for a moment, i've thoroughly enjoyed each time i've met him and i'm looking forward to hopefully getting the chance again and for the record is he is one of my favourites of all time. He does have an ego about him though on certain subjects especially when it comes to fans (the less polite ones than you or I, the annoying ones.. and who can blame him) and criticism, perhaps deservedly so, wouldn't dispute that.

I definitely remember this... the match was good, but not worth getting worked up over.

Also, I think RVD was like super sloppy at this point (that also probably hurt his push, even with the Reign Of Terror), so Jericho was swimming upstream anyway with fan expectations.

Oh don't worry, sorry, I wasn't meaning that you were wrong to feel the guy has an ego at all (he does), just reflecting on how open he is to talk to us as long as we aren't the wretched fan types who treat him like a demi-god/treat him without respect.

Created a lot of attention at the time. I believe Jericho got put in the dog house for it also. As for the match, I just remember it being average. Jericho must have been Drunkicho that night.

I remember that most people didn't hate that match as much as he thought they did. I wasn't a Jericho fan to begin with, but after that outburst I was not here for him.
