It's actually pretty amazing how well the early Nitros have held up over time, even with typical WCW moments. One hour of Nitro accomplished more than 3 hours of Raw does today, and was significantly more entertaining in the process. Luger was at his best in that wild-card spot. He had the looks and wrestling style of a classic babyface, but a smarminess he could never downplay enough to be completely beloved outside 96-97. I could relate to Sting in the process too, becuase I've been in the situation where I'm friends with someone my other friends don't want to hang out with.

It's kind of amazing to me how much they got across in an hour time slot. Typically there were three matches, plus major storylines forwarded in less than 60 minutes. To me, this is what constitutes a great wrestling show. Pack it full of action and leave the audience wanting more. The three hour format is so out of touch.
