Well, this will be a short tournament. How so? Well, one man is already in the finals. How? Well...
Round 1
Match 1
Goldust VS Ken Shamrock: Shamrock def. Goldust by submission (8:45). Goldust came out fighting, taking it to Shamrock for a while. But, a trip from Jerry Brisco, who came down to make sure Corporation member Shamrock won, allowed Shamrock to go after Goldust's ankle. However, Goldust did start a small comeback. But, another trip from Brisco allowed Shamrock to get the Ankle Lock on. Goldust eventually tapped out.
Match 2
Triple H VS The Rock: The Rock def. Triple H by pinfall (5:46). Triple H was in no capacity to compete with a bad knee, but Vince McMahon forced him to wrestle under the threat of termination. Luckily, The Rock and referee Shane McMahon took pity on Triple H. But, McMahon and forced them to be harsh under threat of termination. The Rock reluctantly beat down on Triple H. He eventually put Triple H with a Rock Bottom.
Match 3
Stone Cold Steve Austin VS The Big Boss Man: Stone Cold def. Boss Man by pinfall (0:03). Everyone thought this would be a wild brawl. It wasn't. The Boss Man ran at Austin. He kicked Boss Man in the gut and hit the Stone Cold Stunner. 1... 2... 3! Boss Man was out.
Match 4
Steven Regal VS X-Pac: Regal and X-Pac fought to a time limit draw (15:00). So far, this was the best match of the tournament. X-Pac came at Regal fast and furious. However, when X-Pac went for a moonsault, Regal rolled out of the way. X-Pac hit the mat, and Regal took over, wearing X-Pac down with mat-based submission wrestling. After several minutes, X-Pac would mount a comeback thanks to Regal getting upset with the ref over a near fall. X-Pac took it to Regal but couldn't put him away. To make matters worse, each first round match had a 15 minute time limit. Time was wearing down as both men went at it back and forth trying to put the other away. X-Pac finally hit the X-Factor and appeared to have the match won. But, the bell rang just as he pinned Regal. This meant Stone Cold, who was set to face one of these men, would get a bye to the semi-finals.
Match 5
Jeff Jarrett VS Al Snow: Jarrett and Snow fought to a double DQ (6:03). This match soon became a brawl as Al Snow kept on taking it to the outside. Soon, Jarrett got frustrated with Snow and went for his guitar. Snow saw this and grabbed head. And, Jarrett bashed Snow on the head with the guitar as Snow hit him with Head in the gut. The ref disqualified both men, meaning that the winner of the next match would go to the semi-finals as well.
Match 6
Duane Gill VS Mankind: The match ended in a no contest when Stone Cold came out and started a huge brawl (8:02). Well, that's what was suppose to happened. It appeared that McMahon's chosen one, Mankind, would have it easy as he got to face the nobody Duane Gill. However, Mankind had attacked Stone Cold earlier as he was giving an interview after the Regal/X-Pac match. This caused Stone Cold to come out during the match. Mankind went outside to fight him, but Stone Cold instead went after Gill in order to get Mankind disqualified. Mankind grabbed a chair and blasted Stone Cold and Gill with it. Soon, the rest of the Corporation came out. Then, D-X ran out. With everyone fighting, the ref had no choice but to declare the match a no contest, which automatically gave Stone Cold another bye to the finals. AFter the brawl was stopped by referees and backstage officials, McMahon came out and berated Mankind for causing this. He tried to apologize, but McMahon ordered Shamrock and Boss Man to beat him up. As they did, D-X came out and saved him, taking pity on Mankind. Shamrock and Boss Man left before another brawl started.
So, onto Round 2, which will only have 2 matches because of all the draws.
