WrestleMania 9. Bret Hart should've gone over Yokozuna. It would've established Bret as a legit main eventer.

Zach Gowen. Seriously! If he had been used right he could have been a HUGE source of mainstream press and might have made a decent special attraction star.

Agreed on ECW. I think they should've eventually made the Brand Split as "WWE" and "ECW" with RAW and SD sharing the unified WWE/World Heavyweight Championship and ECW having the ECW Championship.

ECW wasn't a missed opportunity. It was going extremely well and they just canceled it in favor of NXT season 1.
It didn't fail at all.

Alex Riley. Charismatic, very athletic for a guy of his size and body type, and as shown on commentary/pre-shows, perfectly capable of showing "personality" when given the opportunity. He should've been a solid midcard talent, but WWE didn't do enough to prepare him for that role. He sucked and WWE didn't do enough to make sure he didn't suck. And they never rewarded him for eventually getting better.

Kofi Kingston.
Was super over after the Orton moment and was treated like a megastar when he beat Punk & Orton at the end of that Survivor Series match. They should have ran with that and had him possibly go on to rival or replace Cena.

I think the biggest missed opportunity is the mods not stopping the OP from spamming up the board with no content posts with links to click bait.

WrestleMania 9. Bret Hart should've gone over Yokozuna. It would've established Bret as a legit main eventer. I actually don't have an issue with Bret losing. It was the subsequent Hogan 15 second win that made both Yoko and Bret look bad. If anything, I would have Yoko destroy Bret after the match. Have Bret take time off until King of the Ring, in which he wins. They can still do the Summerslam route with Luger or hell...do it with Bret. That gives the perception that Bret is gaining ground against Yoko and will eventually catch him. Wrestlemania X would be the culmination of everything.

The Invasion. Could have been done so much better with a potential huge money feud. Really, WWE has dropped the ball an amazing number of times with big angles/storylines.

WrestleMania 9. Bret Hart should've gone over Yokozuna. It would've established Bret as a legit main eventer. That was the plan all along. Build up a monster that the new champ could beat at Mania (Hogan vs Bundy; Hogan vs Andre). Vince started getting worried so he brought Hogan back to double main-event; Hogan ended up convincing Vince to put the title on him and he'd drop the belt back to Bret at King of the Ring in a 'old face puts over the new face' match. Vince buys it, Hogan immediately goes back on his word and refuses to lose clean to Bret, meaning they have to give it to heel Yoko. Vince meanwhile realises he's sabotaged Hart so tried to build Luger (who he prefers) instead. Which leads me to another booking mistake: Yoko beating Luger by screw job at WM 10. Luger vs Bret would have been a fitting ending to the show.

The Nexus was the biggest missed opportunity. They had all the momentum in the world and then their story went nowhere. Zach Gowen. Seriously! If he had been used right he could have been a HUGE source of mainstream press and might have made a decent special attraction star. I see what your saying but Zach didn't exactly help his cause.

CM Punk 2011. Getting Nash involved and then jobbing him to Triple H, followed by turning him into another generic babyface just neutered that character. I'm not saying he was going to start another boom period or anything, but there was so much interesting material you could have done with the guy.

The Nexus and Summer of Punk. Bray has to be up there too.

Oh, another one is Christian as World Champion in 2011. He'd already proven on ECW that he was going to have show-stealing matches every night, and he had a lot of goodwill from the fans after Edge's emotional retirement and Christian's subsequent winning of the title. I get moving Orton to SmackDown to pop ratings, but why put the title on him right away? Give Christian a chance to run, and if it's a flop, THEN put the belt on Orton. There was no need to do it immediately.
