WWE is really teasing sexual tension between AJ and Paige?

The idea behind WWE's ongoing storyline between AJ Lee and Paige has definitely been to tease sexual tension between the two. There was a creative decision made last weekend that they want to go further with the angle. No word yet on what they may have planned but nothing risky was done on this week's RAW and it appears the same goes for last night's SmackDown tapings.

With the AJ vs. Paige storyline and a few other incidents like more adult language being used and Rosa Mendes being exposed on Main Event, it would appear that WWE may want to do more risqué angles because they need buzz to push the product. However, WWE is still working with Mattel and have promised sponsors they won't ever go back to how they were. It was speculated in a recent issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that we'll likely see more slip-ups and minor adult language on WWE TV but not enough that it will attract attention past the wrestling audience.

Really though, I'm wondering how far they're able to go with this given the current product. Also given Paige might be bi (judging those pictures) I really wonder how this will turn out.

And just being honest, if AJ and Dolph could make out as graphically as they did on a PG show, Paige and AJ should be able to have some lesbian subtext in a feud.

They don't know they are doing with AJ and Paige so they are running with the lesbian angle to fill a few minutes on RAW.

I strongly believe more than ever that Divas should be exclusive to NXT. They'd be better booked there.

Says a lot about the mentity of sponsors, censors etc that AJ kissing Kane or Punk = wholesome family fun. AJ even suggesting to kiss Paige = "risky." So much for progressive thinking.

Well there's the fact that the former was done for storyline purposes and the latter is primarily a sex appeal thing. There's definitely a difference between one and the other. I'm not saying it's right or wrong (for the talent I wish WWE could do better by them, but you know, like, I'll watch it) but I wouldn't cry homophobia about sponsors not digging it.

That's what WWE never understand. They are always trying to target an audience that has better and cheaper alternatives elsewhere, while neglecting the audience they should be focused on....wrestling fans.
