Anyone else notice that the last episodes of every season of South Park tend to suck? I'm not talking every time, Woodland Critter Christmas and Butter's Very Own Episode are great, but there a bunch of other that are just terrible. I thought the Stan/"Landslide" season finale was pretty damn good. They had me convinced that it was the series finale.

But that was a midseason finale, wasn't it?

Honestly, I think most premiere episodes tend to suck.
I'll give South Park credit, they really only had 2 misfires this season. I fully expect the seasons to gradually get shorter though.
I just wish they'd quit with the 2-3 parter episodes. It's fine to do every few seasons, but it's been something they've done too much in recent years. The bad is starting to outweigh the good.
The good 2-3 parters; Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut/Cartman's Mom Is Still a Dirty Slut Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?/Probably Cartoon Wars Part I/Cartoon Wars Part II Go God Go/Go God Go Part XII 200/201 You're Getting Old/Ass Burgers
The mediocre or bad 2-3 parters; Imaginationland Episodes I, II, III (partly mediocre, dragged out too long) Coon 2: Hindsight/Mysterion Rises/Coon vs. Coon and Friends (dragged on way too long) Pandemic/Pandemic 2 Black Friday/A Song of Ass and Fire/Titties and Dragons #REHASH/#HappyHolograms
So really, it's mostly the 3 parters that get WAY too ambitious with an idea that they can easily wrap up in one episode. When they're touching on sensitive subjects such as religion, I totally understand stretching that out because there's a lot to cover. Other times they can just WAY overdo it to where I don't want to waste half the mid season on one idea such as Imaginationland, where it did have some really funny and quality moments, but it didn't need to be 3 parts to get it done.

But that was a midseason finale, wasn't it? No, this was their season finale. They only do 9-10 episodes per season nowadays - that started last year. Their usual 7-8 episode run / summer break / 7-8 ep run seasons are a thing of the past. Man, the midseason finale mentality these days kinda stinks.....

Oof. That was a real clunker of a season finale.
Which sucks, because they had 8-9 really solid episodes this season and it was REALLY strange to see the finale really fall off like that.
