So, I know I usually ask these kinds of threads for my own personal gain, however, I have a different reason for asking right now
As of Rock Band 3, I have been really getting into buying DLC lately, so I want to buy a full album that is great and challenging on guitar (but not holy f*** hard) and possibly fun on vocals
Note: 2 Other albums are greatest hits, No Doubt and Bon Jovi
21st Century Breakdown - Green Day American Idiot - Green Day Are You Experienced? - Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold as Love - Jimi Hendrix Experience Backspacer - Pearl Jam Blood Sugar Sex Magik - Red Hot Chili Peppers British Steel - Judas Priest The Cars - The Cars Chinese Democracy - Guns N Roses The Colour and The Shape - Foo Fighters Dookie - Green Day Doolittle - Pixies Dr. Feelgood - Motley Crue Imagine - John Lennon Legend - Bob Marley and The Wailers London Calling - The Clash Moving Pictures - Rush Nothing Shocking - Jane's Addiction Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? - Megadeth Rust in Peace - Megadeth Screaming for Vengeance - Judas Priest Ten - Pearl Jam Texas Flood - Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble The Great Southern Treadkill - Pantera

I don't have too muck expertise, but "The Colour and Shape," and "Ten" are two of favorites, with SO many great songs to chose from. Granted, I don't know how to play guitar? and suck horribly at rock band/guitar hero, but I think you'll have fun with those two.

Well, I'd go with Chinese Democracy, but that's just me.
So
1. Chinese Democracy (personal) 1.1 Are You Experienced? (The actual #1 of that list) 2. Axis: Bold as Lovw 3. Imagine 4. Dr. Feelgood 5. Nothing's Shocking 6. Legend
Can't speak enough to the rest, while I know them, I know these 6 the best.

If you want something that's not too hard on guitar, I recommend skipping anything by Megadeth. Pantera is iffy.
Out of all of them, top 5:
1. Screaming for Vengeance 2.Moving Pictures 3. Colour and the Shape 4. British Steel 5. Blood Sugar Sex Magik

There's not a lot of truly difficult to play on actual guitar songs there, but of those that may be a little bit more...interesting to play/sing:
Chinese Democracy (bit tough to play at points, great album) Nothing's Shocking (bit tough at certain moments, good album) Are You Experienced (it's Hendrix so you'll have a good time with it even if you're not a fan) Dr Feelgood (bit tough at certain moments, fun album even if you've grown to dislike Motley Crue in all iterations over a decade) Doolittle (Pixies are one of my favourite bands albeit so consider this a personal choice) American Idiot (best Green Day album, interesting breaks, but all rather simple. If you like simple longer songs made up for the fact they're essentially 3 different songs in one check it out)
Southern Treadkill is good if you're a Pantera fan too of course, I've fallen off the wagon over the years but if you love the hooks now then well worth a shot.
I'd avoid any John Lennon albums solely as they're so simple to play/sing (partial Scouseness may make me biased here) anyway that it'd be a waste of money to me. For however many good songs are on there I imagine they won't hold your attention playing for an entire LP.
This is all in real guitar terms though, I'm not sure how that translates to Rock Band.

They just have a lot of fast, intricate guitar work, especially on Rust in Peace.

If you want challenging then avoid Legend by Bob Marley. It's a damn great album but it's reggae and roots rock which is easy as hell to play.

Moving Pictures, you can always try the bass lines if the guitar parts are too easy.

I love Green Day, but if you want a challenge, you can eliminate them right off the bat.

21st Century Breakdown - Green Day American Idiot - Green Day Chinese Democracy - Guns N Roses The Colour and The Shape - Foo Fighters London Calling - The Clash Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? - Megadeth Rust in Peace - Megadeth
Warning, though: Rust In Peace has "Holy Wars.... The Punishment Due" and "Hangar 18," and having heard the songs I would assume they'd be very tricky to pull off.

Why the f*** would Imagine be on a rock band list? Most of that album is far from rock. Does the title track even have guitar on it?

Also for those who suggested London Calling...I'm up to Lost in a Supermarket and only two songs don't sound fun (Jummy Jazz and The Right Profile)

If you want challenging then avoid Legend by Bob Marley. It's a damn great album but it's reggae and roots rock which is easy as hell to play. The vocals can be hell though, good grief. The most fun vocals of the bunch is the Clash followed by Green Day. If you want Green Day, just buy Green Day Rock band for like 8 bucks and get 50ish songs. Pretty fun game and there are some awesome playlists pre-made.
