We're a week removed from NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way, and some NXT history is taking place this week...
*NON-TITLE MATCH: Charlotte vs. Emma *Hideo Itami vs. Justin Gabriel *Baron Corbin vs. CJ Parker *Adrian Neville & Sami Zayn vs. Titus O'Neil & Tyson Kidd
Yes... EMMA IS BACK ON NXT! Oh, and some guy who used to be called KENTA is on too.

So I don't know when this stuff airs state side, so I'll spoiler my thoughts. {Spoiler} The whole Titus O'Neil thing is weird. He comes from out of nowhere, and then it felt like they were building him up to challenge for the title, but then Kidd gets the win over the champion. It's obvious the end goal is a Neville/Zayn match, so I don't mind the filler feuds in the meantime, but it still was weird.
Speaking of Kidd, the way this show was written I almost feel like he should be champion right now. An opportunistic chicken shit heel playing Neville and Zayn against each other in order to take their attention off him. Plus Titus would be a great muscle for him. Oh well.
Emma looked sloppy in her match with Charlotte. It's a shame her run on the main roster didn't work out, it's not her fault. Though this didn't really do her any favours.
I'm actually glad the Ascnesion got one up on Itami. They were champions for a year [despite only really fighting jobbers] and they got the jump on him. It's easy to argue they underestimated him at Takeover which allowed him to get the upper hand on them, so I liked that continuity instead of the invincible babyface crushing the lowly tag team [see any top babyface on RAW].
Kind of a slow episode, but that's par for the course since we're not getting another big show any time soon. Hopefully things pick up though. I'm not asking for much, but I don't know if Titus O'Neil is the answer. Also I might be worried if I was him, this angle is kind of similar to Brodus Clay's brief NXT run earlier this year before he got released. I'm not necessarilly saying he needs to go, but he didn't do a whole lot to justify otherwise either.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}We get to watch from the ground floor as Baron Corbin goes from beloved dude squashing people on NXT to resented guy on the main roster being pushed above Zayn and Steen.

Maybe this NXT run for Titus is preparing him for a main roster push. Batista has been pushing for him to get a push and wants to work with him.

Couple thoughts as the new episode is airing on the network right now.
Enzo and Cass with the camera phone videos? More please.
Whatever they are calling that Kenta guy? Does he do anything other than kick? Kinda lame first match.
Tag match is getting ready to start and one of these things do not belong.....why the hell is Titus there? He's proven he can't keep up in the ring with these guys. Unless he's just there for the big finish after Tyson bounces around for 15 minutes.
Oh yeah, Baron Corbin. Absolutely love the little i've seen from him so far. He's got the ring presence and finisher part down. Gotta see what else is there.
And where the hell is my Tyson Breeze...grrr..

Titus was sent down to the recent NXT tapings. We can only guess that either he or WWE (or both) wanted him to get more experience working longer matches and working with Zayn and Neville. As I said above, I think WWE may be trying to set Titus up for a future push. Batista has said in interviews that he wants to work with Titus. In NXT he will get more promo and ring time than he would normally get on the main TV shows.

Honestly I was liking Titus in his tag team. He was showing a good personality and the matches were pretty entertaining. I think his best spot is in a tag team really. He's too limited in the ring and can get lost sometimes while he's doing promos (hell he did earlier in this episode). This is coming from someone that actually likes the guy. Imagine what non fans think of him.
I mean lets face it. The dude's what 36, 37? Can't use the potential and improving thing with him no more. He is what he is.

That hideo match was disappointing, he botched a few times. His finisher looked awkward

That finish sucked for Itami. He needs to reclaim the GTS.

Not only am I officially hopping on the Baron Corbin bandwagon, but I'm calling dibs on being his #1 fan.
Welcome to the Baron Wasteland, folks.

Alex Riley totally disregarding Renee's comments about Kobashi to talk about it didn't matter and that NXT did was sort of infuriating, actually.

Baron Corbin is awesome. I can't wait to see what he has in a real match.

I'm kind of disappointed that all of the Zayn-Kidd matches (whether it be singles matches, being on opposite ends of tag team matches, or 3/4 way matches) have yet to result in an East vs West Canadian Civil War angle. Welcome to the Baron Wasteland, folks. Ok, now that is just a flat out bad ass catch phrase.

That opening was killed by the editing. Too many cuts and bounces. The stuff with Zayn and Neville was alright I guess, would have been better without Kidd and Titus just lingering.
Emma v. Charlotte, that was messy. I'd say Emma was rusty but she's been working house shows, dark matches and things so that was no excuse. They really need to figure out what Charlotte's role is though. Since Takeover 1 she's been floating in this weird area where she's booked as a heel but acting like a face and it just isn't working (for me at least).
Itami looked good at times and lost at times but that is the point of him starting in NXT. There is a lot to learn playing to the camera, working a bigger and different ring and far different ropes than ever before. Sad thing is I can already see people making up their minds based on this one match and calling him a bigger bust than Sin Cara V1. The Ascension getting one on him works but I hope to God this is leading to Devitt or Steen or another guy debuting as his partner rather than them trying to make us think Funaki is a serious competitor. On a side note, kinda sad that any sort of Gabriel push is dead. Was hoping he'd get a little bit of a push and a big shot again Neville and Zayn.
Baron Corbin v. CJ Parker. I love Corbin and am just waiting to here him talk before calling him the next huge star. Feel bad for Parker though, I really like his stuff as the enviro-hippie heel and sad it just seems like he'll be spinning his wheels.
The Enzo/Cass/Carmella thing was excellent. Do wonder if Carmella will end up with the Legionaries or if they pick up someone to counter her.
Main Event Tag: Good match. Titus looked great and I liked the pairing with Kidd. Liked the finish but I really hope they don't drag out the heel turn until Takeover III.

Problem with Itami's finisher was the camera angle that pretty clearly showed he didn't make much contact with Gabriel's chest.
He slipped on the springboard dropkick but still got it off, beyond that I have no idea how anybody could say it wasn't a perfectly fine debut. I was a little disappointed that the crowd wasn't making any real noise when he hit the kicks, I thought they would have been 'oohing' or cheering or something.

I thought the exact same thing watching him. Future most hated man in the IWC right there. Decent episode, although I would like to see a better finishing move from Itami.
