He's good and all, but good enough to go in the top 5 twice? Haha. I'm saying he shouldn't be inherently in the top 5, like the op suggested, to begin with. He only makes top 10 due to popularity. One of the most overrated workers in the business. If he's so good simply based on popularity, can he really be considered overrated in the context of being a top wrestler? Unless you're weighing your own opinion heavier than the opinions of the majority.

Gotta be Flair, for how much success and how long his career was, and he's a household name. I give him the edge over Savage because of longevity.

Cena is very well known outside of wrestling. Just mostly to kids - he's on nickelodeon shows and kids choice awards and things. But he's WAY more famous than many people are giving him credit for.

In terms of fame... 1- Hogan 2- Austin 3- Rock 4- Flair 5- Savage 6- HBK 7- Bret 8- Piper 9- Undertaker 10- Andre The Giant Cena is well above Flair. Rock is well above Hogan. Unless your survey is exclusively 35+ year old men only. More like: 1- Rock 2- Hogan 3- Austin 4- Cena 5- Savage 6- Andre 7- Piper 8- Flair 9- Bret 10- Undertaker People with more fame than Shawn Micheals: HHH, Edge, The Hardys, Lita, Jericho, Stacy Kiebler, Kane

Cena is famous in the WWE bubble. In the mainstream? I doubt it's significant.

I don't accept Cena in the top 4 from either a popularity (he's a babyface that is booed by 40%-90% of the audience depending on location, and that's happened for his entire run) or a more widespread wrestling success perspective.
Hogan, Austin and Rock were critical in the two biggest boom periods (Hogan did it twice!!!) in wrestling history.
Check out the TV ratings since Cena was put on top....he's been the face of the successfully monetised monopolised post-2001 wrestling industry but not one (net) extra fan has started watching wrestling because of him.
I would personally be looking for someone else (to go with Hogan) that contributed hugely to the '84-89 boom period, Macho and Flair are the top candidates.

Cena is famous in the WWE bubble. In the mainstream? I doubt it's significant. Cena's not as popular as Hogan/Rock/Austin but he is known in the mainstream. If there's one modern wrestler people know about, it's Cena.
