He was fun in Memphis. And majorly over when he restarted GCCW in Pascagoula. Sure he wasn't that good in the ring, but he had a presence that few could match.

I don't suppose he'll get in the HOF, but as a kid, I just got a kick out of seeing Hillbilly Jim being able to even up the odds with his uncle and cousin

I love the story that Patterson told on Legends of Wrestling about Uncle Elmer literally crying in the locker room of the Memphis territory when someone gave him a bump that hurt him.

Hillbilly Jim tells the story about how Elmer held Vince up for more money prior to his SNME match with King Kong Bundy. Bundy squashed him, and Elmer was fired immediately afterwards and never seen again.
He did have a charisma about him, but it gets uncomfortable to watch when guys can't get up without using the ropes for leverage.

Apparently his wedding on WWF TV was his actual wedding.

Apparently his wedding on WWF TV was his actual wedding. Really? Where's the source on that?

He beat Jerry Valliant with a bodyslam and pin on the SNME wedding night episode in 9 seconds.
That same episode also has him singing and he's shaking like crazy lol.

He was without a doubt the worst wrestler I have seen.
Sure, there's other guys who are likely worse, but those guys are usually optional. I seem to recall a lot of attention on Elmer in the early WWF days, and could never understand why, he had no redeeming qualities at all.
