Any feud where someone wants Cena to turn heel/embrace the hate/change in some way and Cena responds talking about how much he loves the fans and doing charity work. The end result is always that he doesn't change at all.

The end result is always that he doesn't change at all. Also any feud where WWE blatantly feeds into Cena's mixed reactions by having his opponent pander to the "Cena Sucks" crowd for cheap pops, even when said wrestler is over enough that they don't have to.

The first feud with The Miz in the summer of 2008 or 2009.
The Miz breaks away from John Morrison and has his first singles run since the early days of WWE's ECW, and to prove his worth, he decides to come after the biggest dog in the room in John Cena. Cena doesn't respond to Miz's challenges for a few weeks, so The Miz continues to prod at Cena until he finally does confront him face-to-face. And then Cena basically laughs off The Miz, then in their match at The Bash, Cena essentially squashes The Miz, beating him in roughly five minutes and having him tap out to the STF less than five seconds after it's been applied.
I'm not saying The Miz should have won the match, but they had a chance to propel him as a upper tier-level heel, and instead he just turns out to be cannon fodder for Cena, another jobber in his path of the WWE Championship.

Oh man the worst thing I remember about it is in their match, they opened it up with Cena trying to establish his dominance with his rendition of chain wrestling and his offense just looked so awful. Meanwhile Miz had to play it off as "good lord how do I figure this guy out?"

Yep. We've had to hear that over and over, usually followed by a Cena "I love the fans. They can cheer or boo if they want" promo. Basically, most Cena feuds contain promos that could have come from any of his other feuds.

Orton. They take two of the dullest and most boring voids of charisma and put them into a years long feud just a shitty experience to sit through all around.

I have never watched an entire Bena match. His style and gimmick are grotesque. His career is the reflection of a sterile wrestling generation. Hope it gets better some day. Till then, every match I've ever seen him in is horrific.

any of his dozens of snoozers with Randy Orton or Big Show. it's bizarre with Orton; both guys are perfectly capable of having entertaining feuds with anyone else but the minute they're in the ring with each other everyone gets the instinctual urge to reach for the remote.

Name me one great thing that came out of his feud with Bray Wyatt?
I love both guys, but good god did that feud take the life out of Bray and basically only kept Cena busy for three months before he went back to the top.

I'll fight anyone who says Embrace the Hate. That was one of the best feuds ever! At least that one was so bad it was hilariously fun to watch. And Cena siphoning off all of Ryder's heat is the icing on the cake.
