Damn it Gronk! You just had to catch a TD, didn't you? Oh well, if I had a D/ST that was actually playing, I'd have won.....or if I took Romo instead of Cousins...... And that gave me just enough points to win. That was a close one fantasy-wise.

The Pats have a boatload of problems, but I'm not ready to bury them just yet. They might rightfully miss the playoffs if the Fins step up this year but the whole division has question marks so they might sneak in but they won't do much You may very well be right, all I'm saying is that we're 4 weeks into the season and the Patriots have a history of doing well down the stretch. Maybe that doesn't happen this year, and they finally do crash and burn. Like I said, I'm just not going to throw dirt on them yet.

Colts S Laron Landry suspended 4 games for testing positive for PEDs And they released another player, Da'rick Rogers, for drunk driving the night of the game against Tennessee. I missed that, but Rogers was on thin ice to begin with since he was already behind Wayne, Hilton, Nicks, Montcrief, and Whalen at WR and the team is more likely to use TEs and HBs as receivers than use a 5 receiver set that might use him. Funny fact: Rogers is so non-noteworthy that not only did his release not show up on the news feed for the Colts, the CBS Football game got his name wrong (they have him listed as Da'Rick Robinson).

I think that had a lot more to do with the roster that season than any maneuvers on-field. I'm not saying that the man isn't a good coach, but the jump from good coach to great coach is a much tougher one to place than a bad coach to average coach, or average coach to good coach. The drop from great coach to good coach requires more than a loss though, or even a bad year. This is a team that's consistently been among the AFC elite, and history shows that it takes more than a great roster to have that level of sustained success. Just like being a great coach requires more than fancy on-field maneuvers.

His petty tendencies to bench people for no particular reason, overwork good players (i.e. Edelman) and (allegedly) discourage having players who are good enough to ask for serious money are all kind of odd. To me, it sounds like the dude runs his team less like a football club and more like a mercenary army. And it shows. It's not just that they didn't play well last night. They looked unmotivated. Like, the looks on their faces, all game long, were unmotivated, even before the Chiefs ran away with it. That team didn't even look like they cared that they lost.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports a "pre-requisite" for ESPN's Jon Gruden to return to coaching would be a "franchise quarterback."

Hey Gruden that's not asking for too much. Problem with that is if they got a franchise QB they don't need a new coach.

The Patriots could have had drafted any of the following wideouts: TY Hilton, Alshon Jeffery, Jordan Matthews, Keenan Allen.
And think about the WR's that were available in the offseason- Steve Smith, Emmanuel Sanders, Stevie Johnson, Eric Decker, Golden Tate.

Credit Lil' Rufio with the tackle.
Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria will miss the team's upcoming game against the New York Jets after he sprained his ankle while trying to stop his puppy from urinating in the house.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports a "pre-requisite" for ESPN's Jon Gruden to return to coaching would be a "franchise quarterback." The only places I could think of right now would be 49ers or the Packers. It's becoming more apparent than ever that the Packers coaching approach is "go win it for us Aaron". That dude is a hack that's slowly getting exposed to completely relying on his QB to bail him out all the time. Kinda like John Fox in Denver

Bill Belicheck has leadership which is why those players will follow him to hell and back. I really don't think I have to say much here, much like I don't have to say much to the guys who keep saying that the Patriots can't win without cheating, IGNORING the fact that they have been to the biggest game twice after that and the fact that they almost are ALWAYS in the AFC Championship Game.

Hell I'd love for Gruden to take over in Denver.....today would be a nice day for that change. Denver is just winning in spite of John Fox not because of him.
Regarding SF having a franchise QB. Sorry don't feel like Kaepernick is one. His biggest strength is running the football to me and that's only going to last a few more years. Like Denver winning in spite of Fox, I think SF wins in spite of him. He's "good", but I wouldn't be building a franchise around him. Franchise QB's don't carry a 58.2 completion percentage for a full season, like he did last year, in 2014. That's some Michael Vick shit.

"these people?" I've criticized the Patriots about this before. It doesn't mean that they're a bad team or a weak team but they have been coasting on past accomplishments for a while. They SHOULD be able to go to the AFC championship game. They have a moderately talented team with an excellent quarterback, and previously had a strong offensive line. That automatically puts them above most teams they play against, all other things be damned. But they lack a winning state of mind to really put away teams like they used to be able to do on a weekly basis. They are not the same team that they used to be.
