No, but we are witnessing this board drowning in a sea of hyperbole.

No one who lived through 1995 WWF would ask this question.

Not even close. But WWE IS living off the fumes of a more successful time to be sure. If Vince started today with these same ideas and direction from scratch without the years of goodwill and monies made off of eras booked properly, he wouldn't make it.
WWE right now is stagnant if anything. They've suffered no growth on any creative level in almost a decade. To Cena's credit he's kept the ship steady. But he hasn't been responsible in any way for an upswing in business either. They're just level.

There's never been a time in the history of this board that there wasn't a good chunk of the posters here proclaiming the end of the company forever. There's nothing special or unique about these posts. Just the attention seekers of the month.

Yep, they plateaued a long time ago and if anything the nose of the plane is pointed down, but they've not even come close to approaching a dive. The stagnation will eventually start driving people away, but it's a long way off. The fact they're a publicly traded corporation will keep them alive for a long time.

If WWE can survive the horrendous guest host era they can survive anything.

You might be if they just keep phoning it in like they have in recent months. If they do start losing viewers beyond the usual attrition rate replaced by new kids, it's going to be a bitch finding people to replace them in 2014.

It's stuff like this that make me question whether or not I just don't have the temperament to be a wrestling fan. Like... I'm not angry at all about Cena's run at the moment, or the angle with the split of The Bella Twins, or the impending Roman Reigns push, or the sidetracking of The Wyatt Family, or anything else really, but MOST PEOPLE ARE. And it makes me feel like I'M in the wrong somehow as a result.

No, but I think we're witnessing the slow death of Vince being in ultimate control. Eventually, people high up the WWE food chain are going to become tired of losing out on huge moneymaking opportunities. That CM Punk "shoot" from 2011 is barely a work anymore.
