No. When a company is dying, it's usually way more obvious. Just look at TNA.

Yes, the biggest wrestling promotion that draws a couple million every week is dying. Bad booking and bad ratings are two different things

I do think we're in the early stages of a transitional period into the Network Era.
Part of that is PPVs aren't "bought" but part of the network package -- I know there are still cable carriers that do the PPVs and on the big ones there are probably still significant, if shrinking, buyrates, but instead of the operating principle being that it's a BIG PPV so has to meet certain criteria (like clean finishes in the big matches or at least finishes that are major in some way if they are not clean, i.e. the Shield's run-in) is going to become a thing of the past.
I'm sure they'll tinker and experiment with what that means, but it can mean that "PPVs" are storyline starters as much as blowoffs ... that's been the case to some degree at different times, but there will be a difference in how WWE decides to use these monthly network "events."

It's stuff like this that make me question whether or not I just don't have the temperament to be a wrestling fan. Like... I'm not angry at all about Cena's run at the moment, or the angle with the split of The Bella Twins, or the impending Roman Reigns push, or the sidetracking of The Wyatt Family, or anything else really, but MOST PEOPLE ARE. And it makes me feel like I'M in the wrong somehow as a result. The key is to know that you are right. The internet can be a crazy place and the people who are angriest are the loudest. I for one greatly enjoyed Night of Champions and have no idea what anyone could be upset about.

I hate the black and white world of geeks sometimes. Everything is either the ''BEST THING EVER' or it's horrible trash that'll kill everything. Middle ground exists.

This show was a steaming turd with a side of diarrhea.
But no, WWE will be fine.

This show was a steaming turd with a side of diarrhea. But no, WWE will be fine. I will never understand this logic. We got like 5 good matches, and Cana, and Brock was good until the ending. I can understand not liking the ending of Cena and Brock, I however don't see how that makes the whole show a turd.

The WWE can get 100,000 people to buy their PPV's even with the network and streaming. They are not in any danger. Wrestling fans will spend money on anything (except TNA).

They are fine. I think they are hurting for face main eventers right now, but that will be solved. They have a bunch of young guys I want to see either currently on the roster or at least in NXT. They are kind of in a transition period if anything.

I can understand not liking the ending of Cena and Brock, I however don't see how that makes the whole show a turd. I liked the first two matches, in fact I highly enjoyed Sheamus vs Cesaro despite my hatred of Sheamus. From there though, the show went downhill for me. The Rusev vs Henry thing was just more of the stupid America vs Russia thing, with Lillian Garcia even singing America The Beautiful before the match which was ridiculous. Then we had Ziggler vs Miz with horrible guest commentary and a forgettable match. Then there was the diva three way, which while not bad was just sort of more of the same. We got Orton vs Jericho, two of the stalest wrestlers on the roster. Then we got John Cena overcoming the odds on Lesnar with a screwy finish. If you enjoyed it cool but I expect more out of a ppv. This would have been fine for an episode of Raw I guess given the standard of what passes for Raw these days.

I won't go as far as to say we're witnessing WWE's death, but we've been witnessing WWE going through a slow, painful sickness for close to a decade now, and there are no signs of it getting better anytime soon. Their lack of creativity and fear of doing anything bold and unpredictable has lead to what I consider the worst period for wrestling in history.

No; I really think this ending was a kneejerk reaction to losing Reigns for however long. They're now down TWO main eventers, once of which being the new golden boy. Lucky for them with Ziggler (if they ever stop shitting on him), Cesaro, and the returning Ambrose, The 'E will be fine.

Death? No.
Is it becoming more and more obvious to the casual fan that certain people in the hierarchy don't have a clue what their audience likes and doesn't like? Yep. This problem has been becoming more and more evident in recent years. Sometimes the WWE is able to correct the problem, other times they aren't. I mean listen to interviews guys do when they are on break from the WWE and quite a few of the wrestlers seem to know that certain things are stupid and won't work but creative doesn't think so.
Now again, some things just take time, but other things you kind of knew were going to fail right away. Whether that's all Vince, Steph, and Kevin Dunn or it's the Creative Team no clue. I do think the biggest issue goes back to the fact that the creative people either don't understand or refuse to believe that their audience likes the wrestling aspect of World Wrestling Entertainment, and not cheesy storylines.

Am I the only one that thought Brock looked really strong and Rollins becoming #1 Most Wanted Dead (Ambrose, Cena, Reigns, and even Brock all have reason to go after him) was a great finish?
