He was doing business for himself, his catchphrase was clear enough in that sense. Maybe he had been working for someone and then flipped out or something. Anyway, it's one of my all time favourite gimmicks. Darsow was awesome at it.

Well, if I recall, he was originally hired by the Million Dollar Man to get back the "stolen" million dollar belt from "wrestling superstar" Virgil. I think from there he was called to rid the WWF of what he saw as moral injustices, a la the Big Boss Man.
