Hey, I was wondering if anyone has ever played either of these? And I'm wondering if I can get a decent single player campaign out of either? I'm happy with thirty or forty hours.
What I really want is to pay the initial cost of the game and NOT have to pay to play it (ie the MMO subscription rates).

When XI was new I played it for about a week before becoming really bored with it and have not played it since.

You can get hundreds of hours with XI. XIV was fun for a while.

You can get hundreds of hours with XI. XIV was fun for a while. Ok, but are these single player, non-online options? Like with a story and a definitivebeginning and end? Or is it just running around aimlessly ?

It's a while away but here's a link for Final Fantasy 15 info.
If you buy Final Fantasy Type O which I think it for the PSP you get a code for the demo next year in March. This is in American copies.

I saw the FFXV demo last week Nd simultaneously vomited in my mouth, died on the inside and booked next November off. I've heard it's only 55% done, hopefully the other 45% is good.

Final Fantasy 11 and 14 are both MMOs yes.
Final Fantasy 11 is impossible to solo in.
Final Fantasy 14 is slightly more solo friendly but it's not all that interesting.

I heard one really whiny guy in that video who I already want dead. And I've also heard that car they were driving in is the replacement for an airship. I don't know man, but I think it's going to he a hot mess. But XIII should be happy that it'll finally look good to soemthing in relation.

I really wanted to try XIV since the reboot since it looks far and away better than anything before.
I played XI for about a year and never again. Almost killed my interest in MMO's outright until I got into WoW.

Almost killed my interest in MMO's outright until I got into WoW. All I can say about it is that when the reboot hit, it's gone so far leaps and bounds of my expectations that I applauded Square Enix for 1) Being honest on their mistakes of the original and 2) Putting in all the time and effort to make it what it is today. I am a i90 Paladin and Dragoon on the Gilgamesh server if anyone wants to join up for some glorious Dungeons/Raids/PvP

Final Fantasy 11 is impossible to solo in. This hasn't been true for years. Well I am basing it on my experience and I hadn't played in years. I probably should have mentioned that.

What new things have they added to XIV since Realm Reborn was released?

XIV was good for a while but I got a bit bored with it quickly. I might try again because it was (re)release month I played it. It's not very challenging at first, a bit repetitive button wise at lower levels at least.

If you do play 14 and you get it on the PS3 or 4... for the love of god, use a mouse and keyboard. It is simply NOT designed to play with a controller, or even function with a controller.
I wanted to have a good time with it, and there were moments I did have a good time with it... but most of it was spent fighting with the screen over mundane things like, tracking a quest... finding how to move the map, then once I had moved the map... how to get back onto the main screen where I could actually do something. It was just an exercise in frustration.
