"Announcement next week!" Weeks of no announcement, oh TNA, never, ever change. Was it directly from TNA or was it reported from newz sites? Either way, post still applies.

The latest news I've heard is that the networks "in talks" with TNA are suspicious about why it was cancelled by Spike despite being one of its highest-rated shows.
Spike's real reasons for cancelling the show are a) they just didn't think Impact was getting better and b) Russo.

Spike's real reasons for cancelling the show are a) they just didn't think Impact was getting better and b) Russo. I'd also contend that a (Justified) lack of faith in Dixie Carter to run TNA, not cause a PR fiasco, and her seeming inability to separate her On-screen character and Real Life personality...such as it is....have also entered into things as a reason.

Dixie just not the person that should be in her spot. I can see why Spike had no confidence in TNA with her because no matter what she did or hired nothing changed. The rating stayed the same and even if it was one of the highest rated shows they had. The show itself wasn't very good more times the it was. Spike seeing most every big name they got leaving isn't painting a picture of confidence for anybody. Say what you want about AJ but when he left that made a statement because AJ was always the heart of TNA over the years. When you have the main guy from day one just leave. You know you have a problem and when they can't pay him the same or a little more then he was getting before again. More so when you put an on air angle making Dixie look like a fool when Hogan left. The fact that there road shows attendance dropped instead of improving when they did there first road shows.
It make no sense that you can't pay a guy like AJ but some how you can mustard a big offer for Punk? because yes Punk is popular and a huge star but they won't do crap unless you know how to market him. I mean Jeff Hardy was a mega face when he left WWE. Angle was a WM headliner. Sting and Hogan where two of the biggest draw for WCW in the Monday night War. These guys where ALL on the same roster at one time and yet nothing happened. WHY? they can't market a damn thing to save there life. So Punk coming in isn't going mean nothing if you can't book him and promote him as such. That if they some how signed him which I'm sure Punk so all these reason to not outside his desire to wrestle anymore.

Thirty-fourth verse, same as the first.
I can't think of anyone that would cause a big buzz for TNA now. No-one that they could afford or would be willing to work with them.

Knowing TNA if there's any truth to this "shocking superstar" it's probably Sid.

Enough with freaking "major signing buzz" crap. It's what's consistently harmed the company again and again, so for all that is holy, I hope this is just an unsubstantiated rumor.
If the announcement is a more thorough international relationship with promotions in Japan/Mexico/UK/etc., that's great, because it expands TNA's talent pool and opens the door for more varied matches and shows. If it's "HEY IT'S A BIG NAME I KNOW HOGAN IS THE BIGGEST NAME AND THAT FAILED BUT IT'LL REALLY WORK THIS TIME", then just...ugh.

I hope it's a new television deal. A new signign is the last thing they need right now, they need firm footing.

So Dixie can say he turned down WWE to stay with TNA
