It's safer ("er" being the important bit) than it was years ago. In much the same way that getting hit by a Prius is safer than getting hit by a big rig.
There's a limit to how "safe" throwing 250+ pound dudes (and getting thrown around by them) several nights a week without a break can get.

"WWE safe style" was pretty much exemplified in Orton vs Jericho at Night of Champions.

There are always going to be injuries in wrestling, but if they can cut down on the likelihood of those that involve major long-term trauma that's abuot the best that can be done: a knee injury or even a neck wear-and-tear injury is much "safer" than a broken neck or paralysis or repeated concussions from having your skull crushed by a chair every week.

"WWE safe style" was pretty much exemplified in Orton vs Jericho at Night of Champions. I remember when Jericho got tossed into the corner and thought to myself, "Why would anyone agree to take a bump like that?"
