Speaking as a Punk fan, I don't particularly want Punk back. He doesn't want to be there, he looks better since he's left and he wasn't contributing much in his last few months.

The fans won't chant that loud/frequently, it'll come during matches they aren't interested in (sorry, Sheamus/Orton), the start of the show (sorry, 20 minute talking kick off), and during slow moments of matches they like.
If the WWE puts on a show fans are interested in that includes wrestlers the same fans care about they'll have no problem at all.

I want them so badly to have Cult of Personality play during a Cena and Brock promo and then a midget CM Punk comes out and they call him CM Shrunk. That alone is enough to start 5 boom periods.

Since Punk left, Chicago has gone from one of my favourite crowds to one of the most irritating. Why? They haven't done anything other than chant his name like all other crowds. AJ had a match with Nikki this past Monday near the end of a RAW with needlessly long matches for the most part. Nikki had boring and at times confusing heel offense for four out of five minutes. It tested my patience. And yet, I barely heard a chant for Punk. No, not everyone is doing it anymore.

They have died down a bit lately, but he singled out one city when every other city they have gone to have chanted his name since he left. So that means that he should find every crowd irritating, not just Chicago crowds.

Dang, some of y'alls is sadistic. AJ's already won the title back twice since Punk's cut and run, isn't that punishment enough? Must she lose it on Monday just to regain it next Tuesday to really drive the point home? According to Bryan Alvarez on a recent Observer Radio, the reason AJ is champion again is to stick it to Punk. Since it supposedly means she'll have to work more shows and be at home less. But Meltzer and Alvarez are rarely right about anything AJ-related.

That is just ridiculous. If WWE wanted to stick it to them, she'd be working shows regardless.

If WWE wanted to stick it to Punk via AJ, they'd have her doing the lots of boyfriends gimmick again, and snoggign a different wrestler every week. Including the smelly ones (I'm looking at you Primo).

Each time they've gone to Chicago, there's one or two less Punk chants from the crowd. My guess is that they'll completely have the Punk chants phased out in Chicago by 2018.
