The Tensai gimmick was ruined when they had a white Jew from Boston in a post-WM crowd (smarks aplenty so everyone knew who he was) play a Japanese feudal lord gimmick. The gimmick should have just been "here's Albert, he went to Japan, now he's kicking ass, he wants to be known as Tensai in honour of his Japanese experience". Instead they billed him from Japan and gave him Sakamoto as his little bitch. The evil, smarky crowd ruined the Tensai gimmick. He had green mist that he used to make a super death claw. What was there not to love? I hated that! How did it make the claw any more effective?

I have never heard that chant and I watch a lot of pre-2000 wrestling. Where has this happened? Any time Shawn Michaels was a heel on-screen. And maybe a few times when he was a face as well. I watched a match a few months ago where it was Owen Hart vs Rip Rogers in WCW. Rogers is doing an effeminate gimmick so naturally Owen leads the crowd in a faggot chant. It's pretty surreal to hear a crowd of mostly kids chant faggot. Here's the video in fact: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjWc1AFWT3gWow, that is indeed surreal and quite disturbing, imagine if you happened to be a young gay fan at that show and were surrounded by people chanting that.

I absolutely hate it when the live crowd don't produce a specific reaction in the exact tone I want them too at a set time in the show. The audacity of these people not to cater to my viewing experience is downright insulting.

Fan's chanting "A-Train" or whatever at Tensai when he debuted. It ruined the Tensai gimmick. I'm serious. To be fair that IS how the company presented Tensai, they even had promo videos saying 'he's adopted the name Tensai to show the fighting spirit he gained from his experienced in Japan' but people forgot that amongst the meme-rific dislike of the gimmick. Which is a pity, Albert was a good big man, his gimmick wasn't bad, but the fact they changed his style from Japan into a slow-plodding-hell-monster ruined the thing.

That's how they presented the gimmick after it was ripped apart from the Albert chants. They did not acknowledge it was Albert (saying that, they didn't even refer to him as Albert, they just said a former WWE star) until after the chants came when he took his mask off.

I don't see much of a problem with it really, it was a reveal for the few who didn't realize and it got a pop when he unmasked, they clearly framed it incorrectly for most people though hence the odd belief they were portraying Albert as Japanese across many spots of wrestling fans. It made sense to me but I'm in the minority on this one and am aware of it. They should have put across the whole notion better as it clearly didn't work for most folks, and then allowed him to wrestle his own style as opposed to the slow plodding monster style.

Besides the dated sexual slurs, the guy who tried to rile up Miz, and the guys who screwed with Punk (or incidents of that nature), not much gets to me.
They're part of the show. Literally. WWE's touted their interaction with the crowd as the overall part of the WWE experience.
And I've always seen the bad trolling chants as a reflection of the performer in the ring. And they need to adapt to it, if they're good enough, ala Taker and the "WHAT" chants.
But lousy crowd behavior at the Hall of Fame does peeve me off.

I distinctly remember him getting Welcome Back chants in Miami. It wasn't until they went to the smaller markets that the Albert chants started. I don't clearly recall. I just remember that it was a smarky crowd of some sort that started the chants. Later in the same year, they (Not a very specific they, of course) tried to do the same thing with "Husky Harris" chants for Bray Wyatt. He was able to overcome them, of course. I just makes me roll my eyes when crowds try to how off how smart they are. Granted, crowds shouldn't be mindlessly robotic and behave how they're supposed to either. And, to answer another question from higher up on the thread, the green mist to the claw made it more effective because it gave it poisonous blinding properties...or something.

Tensai is one of those guys who should've been pushed so hard and had multiple world championships by now the fans ruined it. One of my all time favorites. He would've been a lot more over if his ring name was Albert Tensai, the A Train Xpress.

When Bret Hart came back to general indifference. It had been years since he'd last been in a WWE ring, and THAT'S the reaction? Come on, man. 1.It wasn't Montreal 2. He was stopping the crowd from cheering because he wanted to talk

I look forward to the raw after mania because I know the crowd will be lively.
You are guaranteed to get a reaction no matter what happens, therefore it usually results in the episode of raw being better than usual.

popping for Orton's title win 2 days after Christian's first ever WHW title win HOW DARE THEY! Ida know, thought hardworking veteran Christian losing his first world title AFTER TWO DAYS would deflate the crowd, but the marks didn't seem to care...UH YEAH ORTON'S WON IT FOR THE 28th TIME, HELL YEAH AWZUM!!

I absolutely hate the "We want puppies" chant, especially when the women are putting on a good match. Seriously, thanks a f***ing lot for that one King/Road dogg.

(With the other stuff being added frills that were eventually dropped). Yes, he had the title "Lord" prefixed to his name and he had the fancy entrance attire, but they never tried to say he was a "Japanese feudal lord". He was just a wrestler with a "young boy" following him around.

The cage moment with Bryan and Bray Wyatt at the start of the year leading to the Rumble match. The hottest, most intimate moment I've seen with a large audience. The entire crowd merged into one enormous human being that night. I've watched since the late 80's and no Hogan, Attitude era crowd matches that moment to me. The often touted "HHH injury return" was nothing to this. They need to develop Bray more so when Bryan is back, they can have an evolved Wyatt and Bryan epic. They can be career enemies and I'd love it. totally opposite of what this thread is , but I agree with every damn word - that was a beautiful moment

They wouldn't even refer to him as Albert or A-Train, they would just say a "former WWE superstar". The word Albert would not be uttered by WWE until eight months after his debut when Santino made a Fat Albert joke. They billed him from Japan, they had Japanese tattoos on his face, they had him cut promos in Japanese, they had him blowing mist, they gave him a deshii, they gave him that Japanese helmet mask thing. I wholeheartedly believe that WWE thought that no-one would recognise Albert, and he would have remained in his stupid Lord gimmick.

Undertaker's finally fallen at Wrestlemania and the whole world is an emotional wreck as they try to process what they've seen.
Taker struggles to regain his balance several times as he fights off a severe concussion.
The silence is broken by one single douchebag's "BOOOOO.... YOU SUCK!".
