It was a big pop but I don't think it's comparable to many other pops in WWE. I think this is one insanely over-hyped. No. Flat no. Yes. Flat yes.

Triple H was over big time. And he remained over.
The issue was that by 2003 The Rock and Stone Cold were gone, so Triple H being the number 3 guy from that era got a big push and they tried to push him like an NWA style heel champion which didn't gel well with the WWE audience and because he wasn't going anywhere (because he was married to the bosses daughter) he rarely got his commupance because it did kind of make business sense to heavily push the guy who is A. Over B. Never leaving

I mentioned it on page 1 but never mind My sincerest apologies. I do not know how I did miss it, but I did. Madison Carter just sits there with all the answers, waiting for someone else to provide them and then swoops down to confirm. We'll never learn otherwise. Getting extremely tired of you already.

He finished a match with a torn quad. It was probably a respect pop more than anything else.

This can't possibly be a ban on the grounds that I made a joke about you being smarter than the rest of us, can it?

Well that escalated quickly...
It was probably because from Jan 2000 - His injury in 2001 HHH was the best wrestler in the world.

The crowd respected him, and beyond that, he had been absent for the InVasion, and was free of the bizarre booking and exhausting storyline that went with that. Sometimes it is good to not be around for things.

People were tired of the Invasion, and his return signaled the end of it. Well that escalated quickly... It was probably because from Jan 2000 - His injury in 2001 HHH was the best wrestler in the world. Also this.

I think it was sheer relief that there'd be no "8 months of my life..." rehabilitation packages shown multiple times every show.

Simply out of respect for a guy coming back from a legitimate, gruesome injury.

Because he had been out for over a year and had overcome incredible adversity? Actually, it was less than a year(May '01 - Jan. '02)

I'd say between 1975 and 1993 there was a huge influx of brothers having babies with sisters, which led to the crowd that night.
I popped too...when he tore his quad.

After all that build and fanfare, it never made any sense to me that WWE dropped his mega-push and top face act so quickly post-Mania. He had all this momentum, and they just had him drop the belt to Hogan like 30 days later and then had him toil in midcard feuds until he turned heel. His mega-push was terrible, too. If Jericho had been sleeping with Steph while he was gone like he suggested, it would have made it a considerably better face run.

Madison Garden Square was always a fickle fictional venue, they were.
