Remember when they had Sandow STOP wearing pink for a month a year or so ago because HEELS SHOULDN'T CARE ABOUT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS? Also, I'm glad to see they didn't make ones for EVERY F***ING SHIRT like last year; those useless Kofi, Ryback, etc. ones cluttered the clearance section FOREVER.

I never knew that raising awareness for something like Breast Cancer was such a bad thing. You'd think a pink shirt robbed some people in here. Bret Hart stole 15 minutes from me by having that awful match with Bob Backlund at WM 11. I also hate blue trunks and Scottish people.

They;re gonna make the Lesnar vs Cena feud about cancer aren't they. Brock's not wearing pink because he hates people and frankly wouldn't object to them having cancer and Cena is out there looking like the Pink Panther. Cena's not just fighting for the title, for Brock's ass or for Santa. He's fighting against cancer.
God imagine it. "CENA BEAT CANCER!"

I get the side that says "they're helping, that's all that matters." I respect it. Hearts are in good places.
However, I think the issue is deeper than that. My main gripe is that they don't donate enough of the profits, they make a lot more money than they donate. To me, that is just gross. If WWE did this, donated all the profits to research, and just settled for the good pub, I could live with that.
Also, Lance Storm wrote an interesting column on this last year, and he raises some points worth looking into.

I mean, yeah.
Komen is a cynical scam outfit there for whenever a company needs a PR boost and to make money. Didn't people bring this up last time Komen was all over WWE programing?
That Lance Storm deal is dated last year, so I could've sworn we've already had this discussion and general consensus was all this Komen-fueled stuff was not anything people should support.
In fact, didn't we also have a few ways you could donate directly to places...?

I do remember the discussion happening last year, but as I remember it, the general consensus was that WWE was doing something good and that by looking into things you're being a cynical asshole. And this year, tides have turned a little bit, but look at the thread, that feeling is still alive and well. Unfortunately, there's more to it than "helping is good", and there always is, because these people are shady and greedy, and the donated money may very well not be contributing anything worthwhile. And if that's the case, WWE and all these other (already rich!) companies are making money off of breast cancer and not helping a damn thing. Not okay.

People can and will do whatever they want with their money. It's just better to know exactly who and what your money is going towards.
I mean, if y'all just want to give away money to Komen... Just give it to me instead. For every $100 y'all give me I'll donate $2 to raising awareness about awareness.

I will just say this. If the choice is between WWE doing nothing and doing this campaign, I definitely want them doing something. I just wish they would choose better organizations to work with that end up doing an overall greater good to society.

Here's an idea for both sides of this argument. ww5.komen.org/uploadedFiles/Content/AboutUs/Financial/Susan%20G%20Komen%20Financial%20Statements%20FY13.pdfRead that. If anyone has any questions on what a line item means by all means ask. Is this demonizing of this charity warranted. To a point, yes. To the extent it is. Absolutely f***in not. Look at the numbers yourself and make up your own minds....quit parroting what some website tells you what's going on. It's all there. Make an educated decision yourself instead of letting someone else do it for you. There's political reasons why all of a sudden this charity is being scrutinized by the media as it is now that I'm not going to get into(things the company stopped funding). Lets just say other than some questions I have on payroll (which are not that exorbitant...most companies pay about 15-20 POR to employee payroll and benefits in the U.S. today.) they did what they had to as a NPO. Spent what they collected, and distributed it to many different ventures including education, treatment, research and screening services. If someone has a problem with their percentages of distribution that's for them to decide. Was the CEO taking the salary they did too much. Yeah probably. When you are paying out 55 million in employee salary and benefits, I'm not going to raise the mutiny flags and condemn the whole charity when the CEO's salary was 650K.

Whether or not you agree with the charity, any kind of cancer awareness is a good thing. Take it from someone who would know. I'd have a parent who would be a lot healthier if they had gotten checked earlier.

This thread is disgusting. Did you see the tears in the eyes of that woman during Hogan's segment? That's the face of a fighter and survivor. That the face of someone who was deeply touched to feel support from not just Hulk but everyone in the f***ing crowd.
My mother just kicked breast cancer's ass and she was lucky to have an awesome support system in place. Maybe there's someone else going through cancer treatment right now without a huge support group and just needed that extra bit of encouragement to keep staying positive. It doesn't even have to be the cancer patient that needs some inspiration, it's hard as Hell to have a mother go through cancer treatment and Hulk's words could provide the son or husband with some strength to keep staying positive as well.
If you dislike Susan G Komen that's your prerogative, but I know for a fact the events put on by that organization provide people with hope to keep fighting and that's priceless.

I have nothing against breast cancer awareness, I just choose to support other organizations aside from Komen.

As someone who lost his mother to breast cancer, I can tell you that even if it does just this, it's a great thing. I thought the Hogan thing tonight was really well done and the crowd reacted perfectly. I understand why people get mad at Komen. I do. I personally choose to donate to a different breast cancer charity and believe that there are many more that are better than Komen. Still, this does no harm to anyone. So the color of wrestling clothing is different for the three hours or so you watching wrestling a week for four weeks a year. If it can make a survivor feel supported and loved and filled with joy, we all can deal with it.

We can debate whether the Susan B. Komen foundation is good or not all day, thats an argument for another board. However when it comes to WWE's involvement, it's obvious pandering and a easy way to get mainstream attention. It's basically a real life way of getting a "cheap pop".
Also imagine if you were watching Game of Thrones and all the Nightwatchmen were wearing pink because it the episode was airing in October. Or you tune into Breaking Bad and the meth is now pink? It's basically just really gross product placement.

I was aware that they wear pink in sports as well, and that's equally annoying.
Why is it just breast cancer? Why not wear blue for prostate cancer? Why not choose 16 different diseases and NFL teams can wear a uniform that represents that disease every week?
Because it's tacky, unnecessary and does little to actually effect any sort of cure for any disease.
